Experience and skills:

Vigorous passion for literature, smart marketing and research. I must read and analyze everything. And have the world, literally, know that I am great at it. I have an average of around 100 hits on my blog for every post.

Determination for success. My days, evenings, sleep, and work must prove to be the best. Razor sharp, detail oriented, hard working, and organized. I like to and am good working independently, and meeting deadlines.

Natural aptitude for reading and writing and broad exposure to great literature.

"Brian Hardie has been a frequent contributor to Decanto Magazine for years now. I and our readers enjoy his work that by demand I asked him to be the featured writer with an interview and several of his verse and prose poetic pieces featured in an issue as well. His devotion to art and writing and education has a devotion I have never seen. He has an enthusiasm that I know encourages his community." Lisa Stewart, Editor of Decanto Anthology and Magazine of Poetry, United Kingdom

Cultural perspectives, as a result of traveling as both as a performing musician, band manager, as well as a Poet invited to read at a 3 day Poetry Festival In Kansas City, and to read at Columbia University in New York.

Over ten years' publishing experience, over 250 Poems Published, and a published book (ISBN13: 111*********) of 400 pressed, and perfect bound myself in May 2010, last copy was sold 2 months ago. This came with so much knowledge in PR, Marketing, and Promotion that I now write essays on my blog to help aspiring writers. I have held at least 100 readings in art galleries and a collective I Co-ran.

Soundtrack Writer, Composer and Recording Artist. Being a member of the Cassette Underground, I release and record the product on cassette. Each case having its own design and artwork. Though People can listen and download some of the pieces on my Soundcloud(.com/brian-hardie) account. I will be starting at PNCA this fall to study putting sound to movement.

At the age of twelve, I was in a made for television drama with Bruce Campbell.

Education relating to position:

Relevant Graduate Degree in DIY Marketing, Publishing, Multi-media, Teaching, Promotion, PR, and Creative Writing. A proud Graduate of the institutes first class in the subject, The Independent Publishing Resource Center, Holding the biggest Zine Library In the world, studying under award winning writers and professors. Only 6 people a year are accepted. Many more readings followed.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Co-Owner of Community Center and Coffee House "Muddy Waters". Wrote press releases for all of the events. We had free dance classes for kids, writing workshops, music lessons, shows. Very big, positive, supported community. Southeast Portland.

Book Binding Teacher and Supervisor, and also Tour Guide of the IPRC after graduation.

I then became a before and after school arts teacher for 5 year olds for a Non-Profit called Art4Life. A very positive experience. I am currently a member of the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, and have been volunteering every year for their Time Based Art Festival. I am also a member of the Regional Arts and Culture Council, The Creative Advocacy Network, The Oregon Cultural Trust, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and will be volunteering every day of the up coming Wordstock, a week long literary festival, I will be introducing all of the authors before they come onto a stage to speak to hundreds of people.

The 6 years before that, I was a sou-chef. But it wasn't my passion. I have always wanted to impact our culture for the better good with my talents and passion. And I will be starting my own production company and art collective. And we will work to keep the arts extremely vibrant in our society. And I will teach people things not many others know about. I have already written 3 grants this year to fund a project of mine that would inspire the community to raise awareness of thack of value the city has for the arts in schools. Thank you very much for your time. I really look forward to hearing back from you. You will not be let down.

"Brian has a profound, extremely hard to find in this day, rhythmic, musical talent with his writing, he never says what you expect him too, he keeps the reader on their brains feet with beautiful line after line. He has the golden ticket for a poet. I cannot wait to read his book." -Kim Stafford, Poet and Professor at Lewis and Clark College.. A little embarrassing but a big validation that was doing what I have a knack for. Because in reality, ONLY being a poet can be a very solitary and even lonely endeavor. Again I thank you so much for your time and really, really looking forward to hearing back from you as soon as it can be. Bye!
