Worked as a the Structural Engineer of Record in multiple Bridge projects in the last 16

years. Over 50 Bridge Design completed over the last 10 years.

Bridges/Culverts include: Steel Plate Girder Bridges (Straight and Curved); Pre-Cast

List of selective Projects worked on:

Building projects:

1. Medical Research Facility

New Health Sciences Building, Kansas City, MO: is a 6 story 230,000sqft reinforced

concrete building. The building functions includes school of nursing, a pharmacology

research laboratory and office spaces. Construction cost: $45million.

Structural Components include reinforced concrete moment frame, skip joist floor

framing, drilled pier-grade beam foundations, cooling tower platforms, boiler and

generator pads, retaining walls.

2. Sports Facility

Stanley Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field, University of Missouri

Kansas City, Missouri. The project includes a new soccer stadium facility including a

new artificial turf field, two new support building and a new grand stand. Construction

Cost - $8million.

Structural Components include drilled pier foundations, steel moment and braced

frames, concrete masonry load bearing and shear walls.

3. Seismic Retrofit/Strengthening Project:

(i). Structural Seismic Retrofit design of Building 208, Fort Riley, KS: Seismic

Retrofit of existing 100year old 3 storied Stone masonry Building and preserving the

historic aspect of the structure. Upgraded the building to the latest FEMA Codes of

Seismic Strengthening. Construction cost- $2.5 million.

Structural components includes steel diaphragm chords, drag struts, several

connection details for existing timber floor diaphragm attachments to the stone masonry

walls

(ii). Structural Seismic Retrofit design of Buildings 7844 & 7848, Fort Riley, KS:

2- three storied reinforced concrete Flat Plate structure was seismically retrofitted and

strengthened by adding stairwells at 4 corners of the buildings to act as shear walls. A

5 ft wide reinforced concrete slab (walkway) was designed to connect the existing

structure to the new stairwells at each level. The buildings were upgraded to the latest

FEMA codes. Construction cost - $5.0million.

Structural components includes steel diaphragm chords, drag struts, reinforced

concrete shear walls, several connection details for existing reinforced concrete flat

plate floor diaphragm attachments to the walkway and stair wells.

(iii). Reynolds Can Plant, Torrence, Ca: Existing pre-engineered steel building was

seismically retrofitted to upgrade to the FEMA codes. Construction cost $2..0million.

Structural Components include new steel tube beam drag struts, new braced frame

members, several repair and strengthening details for building steel columns.

4. Renovation, Addition and Alterations:

(i). Fitness Center Addition, McConnell AFB, KS: A 26,000sqft addition including a

gymnasium to the existing facility with renovation and upgrades to the existing facility.

Construction Cost - $6.0million

Structural Components include new concrete masonry load bearing and shear walls,

steel moment frames, long span steel roof joists.

(ii). 1909 Tropics Building, Kansas City Zoo, KS: Renovation and seismic

strengthening of the existing 100 year old building. Construction Cost $4million.

Structural components include designing new masonry shear walls, diaphragm

chords, drag struts, mechanical mezzanine.

(iii). Discovery Zone, Kansas City Zoo: Renovation and seismic strengthening of the

existing timber structure. Construction Cost $1.5million.

Structural Components include designing new mechanical mezzanine, elevator hoist

way, diaphragm chords and drag struts.

(iv). Bartle Hall Expansion and Renovation, Kansas City, MO: Provided structural

renovation and addition details for the $25million project as part of the Kansas City

down town improvement project for City of KCMO.

Structural Components include designing structural supports for moveable partition

walls, new loading dock, canopy, miscellaneous renovation and alterations.

5. Emergency Support Facilities:

(i). Unit Operations Facility, Corps of Engineers: A 2 story 40,000sqft Operations

facility at Fort Riley, KS. Construction Cost - $5.0million.

Structural components includes steel moment and braced frames having composite

steel flooring system, elevator hoist way, mezzanines, drilled pier-grade beam

foundation system.

(ii). Central Fire Station, McConnell Air Force Base, KS: A 27,000 sqft fire station

with a high bay vehicle area and support facilities. Construction cost - $4.0million.

Structural Components includes Load bearing concrete masonry shear walls,

masonry pilasters.

(iii). Communication Maintenance Facility, Whiteman AFB, MO: A single story

new 20,000Sqft emergency communication center Construction Cost -

$5.5million.

Structural components includes Concrete masonry load bearing and shear walls,

steel roof joists, standing seam panels, retaining walls, reinforced concrete arms vault,

tunnels.

(iv). National Guard Armory Facility, Macon, MO: A new 34,000sqft Armory Facility

consisting of an Armory Building with offices, vehicle maintenance building,

warehouse/storage facility.

Structural Components include steel trusses, concrete masonry load bearing shear

walls, pilasters, retaining walls, standing seam roof panels.

6. Parking Structures

(i). Blossom House Parking garage, Kansas City, MO: A 4 level parking garage with

1500 total parking space. Construction cost - $6.5million.

Structural components includes precast wall panels, double tee post tensioned floor

beams and columns, drilled pier-grade beam foundations.

(II). Country Club Plaza Parking Garage structures, Kansas City, MO: Structural

inspections and renovations and alterations design of 5 parking garage buildings

including design of retail spaces. Parking garage buildings included Mark Shale,

Seville, Plaza 3, Halls, Park Plaza.

Structural Components included reinforced concrete floor joists systems, concrete

masonry shear walls, floor slab-on grade

(iii). Plaza Highwoods Properties, Multiple Building Structural Renovations, Kansas

City, MO: Work included seismic retrofit design/Strengthening design of several load

bearing components of several buildings at JC Nichols Plaza in Kansas City. Structural

7. US Army Reserve Centers for Corps of Engineers

(i). US Army Reserve Center, Johnstown, PA: A 25,000sqft facility with high bay

area having automotive vehicle maintenance facility with supporting office spaces.

Construction cost - $5.0million.

Structural Components include steel truss moment frame, steel braced frames,

concrete masonry shear walls, floor slab o grade.

(i). George Washington Carver Elementary School, Kansas City, MO: A single

storied 40,000sqft facility including high bay gymnasium facilities. Construction Cost -

(i). Community Supervision Centers, St. Joseph and Farmington, MO: A 25,000

sqft aCa Shaped single story building with the concrete masonry bearing walls with light

gage steel roof truss system as standard structural framing for the prototype building.

The building design was site adapted for foundation design for several cities across the

state of Missouri. Construction Cost - $4.0million.

Child Development Center, El-Paso Texas, Corps of Engineers Ft. Worth District:

(ii). Christ community Church, Leawood, KS: A 2 story 50,000Sqft facility which

also includes a basket ball facility and childrenas day care. Construction Cost -

Structural Components include long span Vereendel steel trusses, masonry shear

walls, floor steel joists, masonry shear walls, drilled pier-grade beam foundation system.

(iii). Child Development Center, Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX: Client: CORPS of

Engineers, Ft. Worth District: A single story 25000sqft new facility design housing

day care centers. Construction Cost: $5.0million.

Structural Components include roof steel joists, standing seam, concrete masonry

load bearing and shear walls, spread footings on engineered fills.

11. Wind Turbine Foundation Design

Wind Turbine Foundation Design for Kansas City Water Department for the Waste

Water Treatment Plant in Kansas City, MO. Projects involve designing of 50kw, 120ft

tall Wind Turbine Structure foundation design involving pile cap footings supported on

Augur cast skin friction piles

12. Pre-Engineered Buildings Foundation:

Several projects involving foundation design for pre-engineered building for Union

Pacific Rail Road, Kentucky Utility Board, Corps of Engineers, Procter & Gamble Plants,

National Guard Armory facilities.

13. Structural Condition survey and Analysis

Multiple projects for Corps of Engineers, Federal Bureau of Prisons, General

Services administration which required structural analysis and investigations of roof

and EB Truman Road, Kansas City, MO: Client: City of KCMO.

Structural Components: 4 span Prestressed I-Girder Superstructure, Substructure is

Non-Integral End bents with concrete Cap beam on drilled pier column supports.

Construction cost: $3.5 million.

(ii). Central Avenue Bridge A7235 over I-670, Kansas City, MO: Client: City of

KCMO

Structural Components: 5 span Prestressed I-Girder Superstructure, Substructure is

Non-Integral End bents with concrete Cap beam on drilled pier column supports.

Construction cost: $3.0 million.

(iii). Broadway bridge A6570 over Ramp aDaState Road at penn Valley Park,

Kansas City, MO: Client: MoDOT

Structural Components: A curved Girder single Span (88a-0a) composite Steel Plate

girder superstructure with deep abutments on spread footings. Abutments have MSE

wing walls.

Construction Cost: $1.8 million.

(iv). Sni-a-Bar Road Bridge Over KC Southern Rail Road, Kansas city, MO:

Client: City of KCMO

Structural Components: Superstructure includes a 3 span (55a-80a-55a) Pre-stressed

Girder Superstructure with elastomeric bearing pads. Substructure includes

intermediate bents with concrete cap beams and columns supported on drilled piers

with rock sockets. Abutments re integral end bents with abutment 1 on spread footings

and Abutment 2 on drilled piers.

Construction Cost $3.5 million.

(v). Bruce Forrester Viaduct Replacement over Union Pacific Rail Road, Kansas

City, MO: City of KCMO.

Structural Components: Superstructure is composite steel plate girder with 6 spans

divided into into 2 units separated by a finger plate expansion joint. Unit 1 is 95a-115a-

95a and Unit 2 is 120a-165a-120a. Intermediate bents are concrete cap beam supported

on columns and pile cap footings; Abutments are integral end bents on steel HP pile

with MSE wing walls.

Construction cost - $4.5million.

(vi). Bridges A5680 and A5681carrying Route 36, Buchanan County, MO: Client:

MoDOT

Structural Components: Bridge A5680 is 10 span (985a long) and Bridge A5681 is 11

span (990a long) with composite steel welded plate girder superstructure. The

superstructure has a aSa Curve Alignment. Substructure is hammer head piers on

spread footings and abutments are integral end bents on HP Steel Piles. Construction

cost: $7.5 million.

2. BRIDGE PROJECTS WITH SEISMIC DESIGN

(i). Bridge A5899 on Route aJa over Turkey Creek, Cape Girardeau, MO: Client:

MoDOT

Structural Components: 3 span (16m-18m-16m) Prestressed I-Girder Superstructure,

Substructure is Integral End bents on HP Steel Piles with intermediate wing wall;

Intermediate bents are concrete cap beam on column supported on concrete cap

footing on steel HP Piles. Seismic Category B project, which involved multi modal

response spectra analysis.

Construction cost: $1.8 million.

(ii). Bridge A5784 over North Prong of Little Black River, Carter County, MO:

Client: MoDOT

Structural Components: 3 span (40a-44a-40a) Prestressed I-Girder Superstructure,

Substructure is Integral End bents on HP Steel Piles with intermediate wing wall;

Intermediate bents are trestle type bents concrete pile cap beam on HP Steel piles

which has lateral sway bracing. Seismic Category B project, which involved multi

modal response spectra analysis.

Construction cost: $1.0 million

3. Bridge Deck and Girder Replacement Projects:

(i). Bridge 801 carrying Henry Avenue from I70 exit at Marshall fields over

Kansas River at Fort Riley, Kansas: Client: Corps of Engineers

Structural Components: Superstructure is 6 span 140a-170a-170a-170a-170a-140a

Composite Weathering Steel Plate Girder; Existing hammer head bents on Spread

footings was modified, existing non-integral abutments were made integral with the

superstructure. Construction Cost - $4.0 Million.

(ii). Bridge 001 carrying Henry Avenue from I70 exit at Marshall fields over UPRR

tracks at Fort Riley, Kansas: Client: Corps of Engineers

Structural Components: Superstructure is 3 span 60a-105a-60a Composite Weathering

Steel Plate Girder; Existing intermediate bents were modified, existing non-integral

abutments were made integral with the superstructure. Construction Cost - $2.5

Million.

4. Bridge Design including Hydraulic Analysis

(i). Bridge A7525 carrying WB route 60 over Jam up Creek, Shannon County, MO:

Client: MoDOT

Structural Components: Superstructure is single span 112a-6a long 6ft deep Bulb Tee

Prestressed Girders; Abutments are integral end bents on skin friction HP Steel Piles.

Hydraulic Analysis of Jam Up Creek was done using the HECRAS. Construction

Cost: $1.0million

(ii). Bridge N107B31 carrying Flintlock Road over Little Shoal creek, Clay County,

MO: client: city of Liberty, MO.

Structural Components: Superstructure is 3 span (56a-65a-40a) Prestressed I Girder.

Substructure consists of integral end bents on HP Steel piles and intermediate bensta

re concrete pier cap beam supported by columns on drilled piers with rock sockets.

Hydraulic Analysis of Little Shoal Creek was done using the HECRAS. Construction

Cost: $1.6million

(iii). Bridge 9-3-01.81 carrying Route K-9 over Grasshopper Creek, Atchison

County, KS: Client KDOT

Structural Components: Superstructure is 3 span (17.2m-21.6m-17.2m) composite

rolled steel beams; substructure is integral end bents on HP Steel Piles, intermediate

bents are concrete pier cap beam and columns supported by concrete pile cap footing

on HP Steel Piles. Hydraulic analysis and scour analysis was done using the software

WSPRO. Construction Cost: 1.5million.

5. RAIL ROAD BRIDGE PROJECTS

(i). Union Pacific Railroad Bridge B21 over the re-aligned Blue River, Kansas City,

MO: Corps of Engineers & UPRR

Structural Components: 4 Span welded plate girder superstructure, with precast pre-

stressed concrete deck panels superstructure supporting dual tracks. Intermediate

bents have concrete pier cap beam supported columns and pile cap footing; End bents

are semi-retaining type Abutments on steel piles.

Construction cost: $3.5 Million.

(ii). Union Pacific Rail Road Bridges B21B and B21C over widened Blue River

Channel, Kansas City, MO: Corps of Engineers & UPRR

Structural Components: B21 B a 66a-66a-66a-76a; Bridge B21C a 34a-7a-66a-34a-7a

welded Plate girder superstructure with 20a wide timber deck, single track with

walkways on both sides. Intermediate bents have concrete pier cap beam supported on

columns and pile cap footings; End bents are semi-retaining type abutments on steel

piles.

Construction Cost: $4.0 million.

6. Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert Bridge Projects

(i). Bridge A6285 over Troublesome Creek, Knox County, MO: Client: MoDOT.

Structural Components:: A 3 barrel reinforced concrete box culvert Bridge

(14aX14ax100aLG) with top slab as the riding surface. The software BRASS CULVERT

was used for the structure design and load rating. Construction Cost: $0.5miliion.

(ii). Eight box culverts in deep fills carrying US71 in McDonald County, MO:

Client: MoDOT. Structural Components: Reinforced Concrete Box culkverts sizes

ranged from 4ax4ax610a LG to 10ax8ax500aLG with fills varying in height from 70ft deep to

100ft deep. The software BRASS CULVERT was used for the structure designed and

load rating. Construction cost: $3.5 million for 8 structures.

(iii). Bridge No. 02900281 carrying Courtney-Atherton Road over Lazy Branch

Creek, Jackson County, MO: Client: Jackson County Public Works, MO.

Structural Components: Reinforced Concrete box (32ax13ax106aLG) with top slab as

the riding surface, with wing walls parallel to the roadway. The software BRASS

CULVERT was used for the design of the structure and load rating. The hydraulic

analysis was done using the software HECRAS. Construction cost: $1.0million.

7. Bridge Inspection Projects:

Biennial Inspection of Kansas City projects in 1994, 1996, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010:

Client : City of KCMO.

Inspection and inspection of more than 250 bridges and culverts, performed the CORE

Elements inspection, prepared Bridge Off System Inspection (BOSI) reports, Structural

Inventory and Appraisal (SI& A) reports including condition rating for each bridge,

prepared cost estimates for Bridge repair and maintenance, performed load rating

analysis; identified and visually inspected the fracture critical members.

8. Highway Signage Design

(i). Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) Structure and Closed Circuit TV camera (CCTV)

Poles across I-47-00/US 50, Jackson County, MO: Client a MoDOT.

A total of 3 DMS structures and 7 CCTV poles have been designed in I-470/US50 in

Jackson CO.

Structural Components include Dynamic Message sign structure design which use

butterfly steel trusses supporting sign panels, steel column tower, walkway platforms,

drilled piers including column base plates and anchor bolts. Wind Analysis and

structural design was done using the software WINSABRE. Drilled piers were designed

using the software LPILE. Construction cost: $2.5million.
