EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

UST Global, Aliso Viejo, CA

Designation - Systems Analyst

Duration - Nov 2006 – Till Date

Enterprise (Aladdin trading platform implementation):

Duration:Mar 2011 – Till Date (Client Site, Des Moines, IOWA, USA)

This project delivers an end-to-end solution to on board a new order management system (OMS)replacing existing order management system. As a part of the solution, several independent applications are developed to support the existing process.

ECAR – Economic capital at Risk:

With the implementation of Black Rock’s Aladdin Investment Management System, the current OMS system, Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) is being decommissioned. As part of the current investment decision process for our clients we monitor risk exposure for potential investments through the use of its Economic Capital At Risk (ECAR) tool. The ECAR tool is utilized to calculate Economic Capital at Risk.

The ECAR tool is currently integrated with the CRIMS system. It has been determined that the functionality being handled by ECAR cannot be provided by the Aladdin out of the box, nor can ECAR in its current state be integrated with Aladdin.

There is hence the need for a stand-alone application that will perform the functions currently being handled by the ECAR tool. This application will interface with multiple data sources to acquire data necessary to calculate ECAR data at the ultimate issuer level that will be used primarily by Portfolio Managers as an aid to making investment decisions. The ECAR application will calculate ECAR when new data received into the system and recalculate ECAR for existing ultimate issuers when updated data is received.

PAM Message monitor:

With the implementation of Black Rock’s Aladdin Investment Management System, the current OMS system, Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) is being decommissioned. As CRIMS communicates with PAM (accounting system) and with CRIMS being decommissioned there is a need to build a system that meet the needs and achieve the functionality that CRIMS provides.

This application provides communication with PAM and allows the Trade operations to edit the messages that are being pushed to PAM.

As a senior application developer for this project I was involved in the following activities:

This project incorporates the due diligence program for the service provider, service provider selection, on boarding of the service provider, and launching the mutual fund product.

As part of this project IT was to develop the infrastructure needed to support the new fund. This involved developing a new web based decision tool and makes changes to existing capital management trading system and setting up new funds in Charles River Investment Management system and portfolio management systems.

The challenge in this project was to establish a seamless communication channel between different stages of a trade like booking, execution, accounting and pricing. The decision tool was required to interact constantly with Charles River Investment Management system for running pre trade and post trade compliances and enable booking of trades in portfolio management system remotely. It was also challenging in setting up system in such a way to relay updates to all users in a consistent and concurrent manner.
