Assistant Superintendent

Started here as an assistant superintendent on a 23 million dollar office building for Cisco Systems. This position includes supervising a core of temorary help, along with the normal duties of checking behind other trades to ensure that they are living up to their contracts; and that any conflicts among trades are resolved in a timely manner. Other duties include safety, the dumpster, keeping up with back-charges, and keeping track of the temporary personnel ie: pay rates, hiring, firing, supervising, time-sheets etc... travel around the country doing various upfits for Cisco Systems including: Louisville KY, Richmond VA, Herndon VA, Raleigh NC

Most of these projects can all be found at Upfits.com (which is a site secured by namezero.com with a "break out of frames" script that takes you to a free website at freeyellow.com). This website is kept up soley and entirely by myself. Any content therin is solely entered and maintained by myself at no cost to Bovis Lend Lease.

I also have a domain - ColliePuppy.com (hosted at Mindspring) that was created soley and totally (except for the background) by myself. All of the top links and the bottom links of every page are Server Side Includes (SSI). The top SSI points to a PERL script in the cgi-bin. Me and another internet aquaintance came up with the script. It un-links a target, IF the user is on the page itself.

1994 - Computer training in Excel and Word became an intregal part of work.

1995

- The advent of the internet, and a few classes in operating systems gave birth to an interest in hyper text markup language (html). At that time it seemed "cool" to be able to link pages with only one click.

1996 - Creating a personal hemepage and personal links and folders around it were a major part of home-life here.

1997 - Understanding of the tags in html became more clear (was was the start of a paragrapgh,

was a line break), using domans, and sub-domains Patti.Collies.com (which now has a redirect to ColliePuppy.com) became clear.

1998 - Windows '98 - came out and made operating systems extremely stable, and IE 4.0 very reliable. Frontpage Express started to eclipse Netscape as an editor. Creating a page on the internet was "easy".

1999

- The understanding of transparent gifs and the use of scripts came into play.

2000 - Y2K came and went. All is well and we bought a domain: ColliePuppy.com tags and tags, SSI, cgi-bin, and search engines etc...it has all come together...

At present I use notepad and /or editpad or Frontpage Express to edit pages; along with WS_FTP. Most of the time I just use WS_FTP, right click on the file and select edit file.

COMMENTARY

I have become a competent website developer on a day to day basis with the experience and grit known only to those of us who have pationately pursued html on our own. It seems that I have a knack for this kind of thing, and with some formal training could become EXTREMELY COMPETENT!

I know all about the tags in html and a good deal about script...

I understand and use Server Side Includes (SSI) on a regualar basis.

With a few lessons on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) the future is bright.
