SUMMARY:
I have worked in the education field for 34 years, including 10 years as an elementary
classroom teacher and 22 years as a public school librarian. My public school library
experiences have included supporting students and teachers with all library and media
services, installing catalog and circulation systems and creating, designing and
equipping a
new library in the Selah School District. I was also involved, throughout my career, with
the
local, regional and state library media associations as a participant, presenter and
officer. I
am currently working at Heritage University a s the Director of Library and Information
Technology. I am also currently completing an MLIS at the University of Alabama.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Present
On August 1, 2009 I began a new career as the Library Director at Heritage University. My
duties as Director include maintaining adequate library and information resources and
services for the university community, in support of the universit y s educational
mission.
The Director is responsible for all library resources and services including working with
students and faculty, technical services and collection development. Other administrative
duties include supervision of staff, budgeting and strategic planning.

to Substitute Teacher

After retiring in June of 2007, I worked as a substitute teacher in the Selah School
District at
all levels with an emphasis in library, computer science and music.
September 1999Selah Intermediate School Selah, WA
to Librarian
June 2007
Selah Intermediate was a new school and I was able to work with the architects to help
design the physical space that included the library, AV studio, 3 computer labs, storage
and
circulation stations. Working with staff and students, we completed a fifteen -month
process
of ordering a new collection of 17,000 titles, AV equipment, circulation/cataloging
systems
and furniture.

After being a classroom teacher for 10 years, I transferred into the library. My first
year we
piloted the district s first automated circulation and catalog systems which were then
adopted district wide. During my 10 years at the Junior High we doubled the size of the
collection, installed a closed circuit AV system and increased circulation over 300%.

Upon graduation from Central Washington University, I was hired as an elementary teacher
