Work Experience
Infoblox, Inc., Ellicott City, Maryland, 2012 to present.
Systems Engineer. Provide technical support of Infoblox sales to the U.S. Federal
government.
Provide pre-sales support for Infoblox s Trinzic DDI product line for DNS, DHCP, and IP
address management (IPAM) services and for Infoblox s NetMRI network automation product
line.
IronKey, Inc., Ellicott City, Maryland, 2009 to 2012.
Senior Sales Engineer. Provided technical support of IronKey sales to North American
banks, credit unions, and other commercial and government accounts.
Provided pre-sales support for IronKey s Trusted Access product line for securing online
financial transactions and providing secure controlled access to internal and cloud-based
corporate applications. Also provided pre-sales support for sales of IronKey Enterprise
encrypted USB devices and associated management systems. Conveyed Federal product
requirements to the IronKey marketing and engineering groups to define and scope future
products intended for the government market, and provided support to other SEs on issues
relating to cryptography, web site security, and desktop virtualization.
Mozilla Foundation, Ellicott City, Maryland, 2005 to 2009.
Director, Grants and Programs. Managed program activities for the nonprofit organization
supporting the development of the the Firefox web browser.
Led the Mozilla Foundation after the spinoff of the Mozilla Corporation as a wholly-owned
taxable subsidiary and managed Foundation financial and legal affairs in conjunction with
CFO and legal counsel. Created and managed an active program of grantmaking in support of
Mozilla-related projects, including initiatives to support enhanced web accessibility for
people with disabilities and to introduce teaching of Mozilla technologies and open source
development practices into post-secondary educational institutions.
Opsware Inc., Bethesda, Maryland, 2002 to 2005.
Senior Systems Engineer, Federal sales group. Provided technical support of Opsware sales
to the U.S. Federal government.
Provided pre-sales support for Opsware data center automation products, including the
Opsware Server Automation System for server configuration management and the Opsware
Network Automation System for network device configuration management. Worked with Opsware
marketing and engineering groups to define and scope product requirements for the
government market. Led the initiative to evaluate Opsware SAS against the Common Criteria
security standard.
CollabNet, Laurel, Maryland, 1999 to 2002.
Systems Engineering Manager, Eastern U.S. sales organization. Provided technical support
of CollabNet sales in the eastern United States, and consulting on collaborative
development, open source licensing, and community management and governance issues to
large IT firms implementing open source and gated community collaborative strategies.
Was sales technical lead and consultant to a major European investment bank investing in
an open source strategy for development of the openadaptor Java-based Enterprise
Application Integration (EAI) toolkit. Created the CollabNet training courses
Introduction to Open Source and Open Source Licensing and Beyond.
Netscape Communications Corp., Bethesda, Maryland, 1995 to 1999.
Director, Systems Engineering, U.S. government sales organization for Netscape and (after
the acquisition of Netscape by AOL) for the Sun/Netscape Alliance. Responsible for
technical support of U.S. Federal, state, and local government sales of Netscape and
iPlanet Internet infrastructure and electronic commerce products. Hired and supervised
three sales engineers.
Was sales technical lead for the Netscape/DoD worldwide site license (later taken over by
Red Hat), the initiative to support FORTEZZA cryptographic capabilities in Netscape
products, and Netscape s FIPS 140 validation effort, among others. Overall was the
technical lead in sales activities resulting in over $80M in revenue to Netscape. Also
served as a consultant to the Netscape field sales force on security and cryptography
issues, and was a key contributor to Netscape s decision to release source code for
Netscape Communicator. In 1998 was appointed one of three Netscape Fellows, the highest
recognition possible for technical personnel at Netscape.

Washingtonian Magazine s top 100 leaders of Washington s tech world for 2009.
