Customer Service
I have an associate degree, A+ Certification, and I m taking continuing education classes
at the University of Utah and Anticipate the Completion of Web Design Certificates in the
near future.
I have ten plus years experience in visual art and technical support. I m currently
volunteering with an entrepreneur, where I have created new Intellectual Properties
(Animated T.V. Series, Face Book/Mobile Game) helped develop other Intelectual Properties
(Animated Shorts, Children s Books) and also provided his company some Technical
Consultation.
Elsewhere I created 3D Models for the pilot of a children's T.V. show (Everybody's Barn).
I prepared images for web and print use at Arnold Friberg Fine Art. I have created Logos,
Brochures, Business Cars, and Fliers (Utah Transit Authority, Dynatec International Inc.,
Summertime Enterprises Inc., and Individual Clients).
Prior to that I was the go-to-guy for 200+ users for all technical support issues
(Microsoft Office and Operating systems, Adobe Products, Printers & Scanners (including
large format), Network Issues, Hardware & Software installations, etc.). I have also
worked as technical support for Microsoft Employees providing support in a Beta Software
environment. I have worked with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems and my
ability to seek answers to issues and resolve problems has put me at the top of every
support team of which I ve been part.

Cartooning/Illustration
Using my drawing skills, I created a series of sequential images to be used as
instructions. Because I have Illustration skills in addition to being a graphic designer, the company did not have to spend time locating an artist to contract. This resulted in
the completion of the package design update two weeks ahead of schedule, a 50% reduction
in concept to completion. The package was being updated due to confusion caused by the
previous instructions; my illustrations clarified the manner in which the product was to
be used.
I was approached by an entrepreneur, which wanted to have a logo created to represent a
startup company he was creating. I worked with him and created the logo that he requested.
It was exactly what he asked for, however the board ultimately chose not to use the logo I
presented, deeming it too cartoony. I have since then learned how to use Adobe Illustrator
to give logos a more professional look and have created and vectorized logos for use in
print and web, including a series of stickers to be given to construction workers for
their hard hats, identifying which projects they had worked on for the Utah Transit
Authority s Transit 2015 project.
Animation
I used people and communication skills in co-directing a team of 7 artists, with widely
varying skill levels, in the production of a 5 minute traditionally animated cartoon short
that won first place in the Animation category of the Utah Multimedia Arts Festival, the
deadline was a tight 3 months, but using my organizational and time management skills, we
were able to complete on time.
I used my ability to produce quality work, with minimal supervision, to salvage a project
that was over budget, and past the deadline that had been outsourced overseas. One object
in the scene was a drum set that had such a high polygon count, that I had to upgrade my
computer s video card just to open the file. I reduced the number of polygons in the drum
set by 70,000 without changing its look, resulting in better rendering times and
shortening the time to completion on the project that was already past its deadline. The
project was long past its deadline when it came to me, but it was a part of a larger
project, and by prioritizing what was necessary for completion, and working only on the
parts of the project that were needed and avoiding elements that were just gloss I was
able to complete my portion of the project before it was slated to go live.
Graphic Design
Because of my experience with a wide variety of media creation software applications, I
suggested the introduction of 3D modeling and animation software to the package design
pipeline. This reduced the mock up time per project from 8 hours per project to 1 hour or
less, creating an annual savings of $13,000.
Using my Photoshop skills, I designed a set of Photoshop actions that allowed me to
expedite the completion of a major project by six weeks, resulting in a savings to the
company of about $2000. Even though I could have worked right up to the deadline, I take
psychological ownership in any project I m involved in and strive to maximize the results,
I created time saving Photoshop actions that allowed for the completion of the project
ahead of time, saving the company money at a personal loss to myself.
Onsite Desktop Support
I used excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and people skills when providing on
site desktop support to 200+ users in a windows based environment. I reduced the time from
problem to resolution, from a reported 5 7 days to 5minutes 1hour, resulting in less
downtime, and allowing Project Managers, Engineers, and Executive Assistants to focus on
the most important task at hand, instead of biding their time waiting. Though I was not
technically part of the IS department, I helped create a bridge between end users and IS
when the solution to a problem was outside the scope of my network permissions.
Using my ability to explain technical computer problems with non-technical terms I
provided one on one training to end users in the use of a variety of Software and
Hardware. As software specialist I was tasked with writing a portion of the Project
Controls User Manual a Standard Operating Procedures document used by all of Capital
Development my instructions clearly explained how to use a network image-database; and
after initial training, end users rarely needed assistance other than the document, even
if the user infrequently utilized the database.
I was the Go-To-Guy for Technical Support for 200+ Users
Level II Support Technician
I maximize my ability to solve issues by familiarizing myself with the most common
solutions to common problems, once that is in place I write support documentation for my
own personal reference when tackling less common issues. resulting in my consistent rise
to the top 1 3 position, using 1st contact fix, initial problem report to resolution time,
and user satisfaction as metrics. Because I know how to solve the common issues and keep
track of uncommon issues that have a solution I am able to quickly resolve problems that
arise. When I found that there were problems for which I had quick solutions, that were
not being diagnosed properly (either by taking calls that were not resolved the first
time, or overhearing people struggle with problems I had the solution for) I offered my
help and documentation. This led to a strong team of troubleshooters that were moved to
the Microsoft, Beta Software, Support team when Microsoft became a client.
