Background

John joined the Nashville office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (predecessor to KPMG) upon receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University in 1966. John worked extensively with financial institutions including Nashville's largest bank at the time and Nashville's four largest savings and loan associations.

In 1976, John started an independent accounting firm, Marlin & Edmondson, which specialized in financial institutions. Starting in the late 1990's, John became part of the ownership and management of a number of financial services companies.

In 2009, John opened his current firm.

During his career, John has:

Assisted companies with well over 75 mergers and acquisitions

Assisted with corporate restructuring

Assisted with long-term planning

Performed numerous consulting engagements

Performed annual audits of various types of companies

Performed tax services for large companies and individuals

In addition, John has served on two community bank boards and has served in various positions with professional and civic organizations, including the American Institute of CPAs, Tennessee Society of CPAs, Nashville Exchange Club and Nashville and various Chambers of Commerce. John is a life member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
