July 1997
June 1999BRAIN International, Russia/Germany
Commercial software developer
As a developer, he participated in the following projects:
Project "Transfer"
System BRAIN was a large management system specially designed for
medium size enterprises. It consists of several important modules:
stock, production, accounting and business planing. The system stores,
processes and analyses data inserted by different users in real-time
mode.
Each module contains a lot of functions. Every function is a program
that performs a number of operations. Additionally each function should
be described inside the BRAIN system in accordance with the defined
rules. All information about functions is inserted to special data
tables. Therefore, when developers create new functions for the BRAIN
system they have to copy both the function and transfer all information
describing the function to the customer's BRAIN system.
The universal tool for transfer of the function to customer's BRAIN
system was implemented using RPG/400, CL/400 and C/400 languages. BRAIN
system works with AS/400e RISC, operating system OS/400 V4R2. Some
functions were developed using ILE C/400, RPG/400, CL/400 (control
language). Work with databases was performed using SQL. The dialogues
were prepared using SDA (screen design aid). APM (advanced program
manager from ARUBA Inc.) was used for source code control. Text of
functions was edited using SEU (source edit utility). The Interactive
OS/400 debugger was used for debugging. Data was stored using DB2
RDBMS. Terminal system was IBM Client Access for Windows95/NT
He was solely responsible for the development of this project and
developed the universal tool that automated the process of function
transfer. Each function was described with 5 types of the data base
records (function call command, internal function keys, users groups,
messages, initializing data structures). He created a set of programs
linked by CL command that selected appropriate data in accordance with
record type for each given function from BRAIN system internal data
tables and saved them in a separate table. And then all data describing
the function were transferred from this separate table to the
customer's BRAIN system
Additionally he created universal program that selected data from all
types of tables in accordance with a defined key and put it into fixed
separate table. The program could pack the imported data in case the
size of initial record was bigger than the record in a separate table.
This program was developed using C/400, SQL and was designed for use
not only within BRAIN system.
Textile Solution Software
Development of a special part of BRAIN system for a textile enterprise
"HUBA Tricot" which implemented the new production controlling method.
While working with small production lines it was expedient to combine
several items with slight variations in one production order. Creation
of some program functions for automation of textile production.
BRAIN system works with AS/400e RISC, operating system OS/400 V4R2.
Program functions were developed using RPG/400. The dialogues were
prepared using SDA (screen design aid). APM (advanced program manager
from ARUBA Inc.) was used for source code control. Text of functions
was edited using SEU (source edit utility). The Interactive OS/400
debugger was used for debugging. Data was stored using DB2 RDBMS.
Terminal system was IBM Client Access for Windows95/NT.
He was involved in the project development. He created several
functions and corrected errors revealed.
Specific Textile Solution
Conversion of date in accordance with new Y2k format. The
above-mentioned project for a textile enterprise "HUBA Tricot" was
created for a new BRAIN system version, i.e.Y2k compatible. The
Customer had the old BRAIN system installed where the problem of Year
2000 had not been solved yet. Since the Customer wanted to buy only
this new developed part for automation of textile production process
our development team worked on a conversion and adjusting the textile
part to the old BRAIN version format.
BRAIN system works with AS/400e RISC, operating system OS/400 V4R2.
Conversion of date format was performed using RPG/400. APM (advanced
program manager from ARUBA Inc.) was used for source code control. Text
of functions was edited using SEU (source edit utility). The
Interactive OS/400 debugger was used for debugging. Data was stored
using DB2 RDBMS. Terminal system was IBM Client Access for Windows95/NT.
As a member of a development team he was responsible for creation of a
program which picked out the information fields containing new Y2k
compatible date and the old one. All selected dates were loaded in a
table and then they were processed by automatic converter (special
program designed for converting the date). Before the automatic
converter was created we had been selecting and converting the date
manually. There were 3 persons in a team with approximately 260
functions in the project.

Project "Dallas Lock 3.1"
Creation and development of an interface part of the software and
hardware data security complex "Dallas Lock 3.1". This complex was
designed for sharing PC workstation by different users by means of the
data encoding and hardware protecting. The complex established
different level of access and provided special work environment for
registered users. The first part of a project was to define different
levels of authorized access for variant users to PC resources. The
project also contained the following parts: encoding of information by
using surplus encoding method and remote controlling trough IPX
protocol.
While working on the project he used 486-based Intel workstation. The
system worked with MS DOS 6.2, Windows 3.1. The system was developed in
Borland C++ 3.0, using Turbo Debugger and Turbo Profiler. Graphics
capabilities were based on PCX library and BGI (Borland graphic
interface). Low level functions for hardware was developed in TASM.
As a leader of a development team he collected source codes from all
the developers and united them into one program "Dallas Lock". He was
also responsible for development of graphic interface library using C
language with BGI library. This graphic interface library contained
control elements similar to those in Windows 3.1. Then he created a
number of functions for work with the hardware part of the system
