* Worked with non-profit organizations at the school and district level. This involves coordinating the activities of 30+ volunteers, holding them accountable for their assigned job duties, developing budgets and financial plans.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

* 2006-Present: Mansfield ISD School Board of Trustees, current position President. Mansfield ISD has been a high growth district over the last 10 years. As our growth has slowed, we are implementing programs to make our district one of the best in the north Texas Region. As a Board, we have dealt with zoning issues, increases in diversity (there are over 90 languages spoken), and replaced a very popular retiring superintendent and most of the Executive Council. We are in the process of staffing reviews to prepare us for funding changes and simultaneously implementing new technology throughout the district.

o MISD has a student population of approximately 33,000 and operates a $240 million budget.

o Since 2006, MISD has opened 11 new campuses and a Center for the Performing Arts and passed 2 bond packages valued at $500 million.

o As a result of slowing growth, the bond package passed in 2011 will be used to upgrade existing facilities.

o All high school students for the school year 2012-1013 will be issued an iPad with electronic textbooks downloaded.

* 1999-2012: Mansfield ISD Parent Teacher Association groups

o Multiple positions at the local school level.

o Mansfield ISD Council of PTAs president.

o Coordinated networking with the 41 local PTAs.
