BIOGRAPHY:
Jamie Calderwood is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationship
between the architectural imagination and the natural/cultural landscape. A trained
landscape architect, he studied sculpture at Syracuse University in the late 1970s with
Rodger Mack and later with Allen Klein at Massachusetts College of Art and Ellen Driscoll
at Bennington College. Like Maya Lin, Allan Wexler, and Gordon Matta-Clark, Mr. Calderwood
draws on his architectural background to express a unique artistic vision. His work has
been exhibited in galleries and outdoor installations throughout New England, and has been
favorably reviewed by the New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Providence Journal.
