Coursework:
Strength of Materials
. Used Tinius-Olsen Tensile Tester, Torsion Tester, strain gauges, and other equipment to
test the strength and discover the properties of several materials including steel,
plastic, aluminum, and cast iron
. Composed comprehensive lab reports to effectively communicate and display results from
laboratory testing
Thermodynamics
. Developed understanding of fundamental laws that govern engineering processes involving
energy transfer, heat, and work
. Applied these laws to study thermodynamic devices including power plants, internal
combustion engines, and air conditioning/refrigeration systems
EPADS II Engineering Practice and Design Studio
. Worked with a team of six to design and construct an automated bean filling machine
that met written design specifications
Operations Management
. Covered topics of discussion including product/service development, forecasting,
facility layout, quality control, and project management
. Worked with team of four to tour local manufacturing company and complete detailed
report and multiple presentations discussing suggested improvements to quality control and
lean manufacturing.
