MEDICAL RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS:
Investigator at USAFSAM Ophthalmology Branch Research Projects concerned with visual
system measurements, techniques and normal values in aircrewmen. The principal objective
of these studies is the maintenance of continuity of vision and understanding of visual
limitations in the operation of manned aerospace vehicles, to investigate dynamic stress
effects on the visual system and to study ocular aging to assure proper physical standard
criteria, therapy and/or prevention.
Investigator at USAFSAM Ophthalmology Branch Research Projects on visual system diseases
in aircrewman. The objective of this aspect of research studies is to determine incidence
and significance of diseases of the visual system in flying personnel from the standpoint
of retention without compromising flying safety, to develop the means to prevent or
correct such disorders, and to develop technique for early diagnosis or prediction of
development of such disorders.
