Principal areas of research are (1) the effects of immersion (study abroad) experiences

and formal

instruction on Second Language Acquisition (SLA); and (2) psycholinguistically motivated

theories behind

SLA (e.g., processing instruction, language transfer). One of my research goals is to

build bridges between

the disciplines of SLA theory and language instruction.
