AACSB Accreditation Experience:
Led successfully the Department of Accounting at CSUF in securing extension of
accreditation for two five-year cycles. Primarily responsible for writing full report and
collecting data and implementing an assurance of learning program.
Selected by AACSB to be a member of Peer Review Teams for Accounting Selected for five
peer reviews: Accounting Chair for three reviews; member accounting team for one review;
unable to complete one review as a member because of husband s illness and death. (2004

Selected by AACSB to serve as Mentor for a university seeking accounting accreditation.

Attended several AACSB annual meetings, seminars and peer review training sessions.
Development Activities:
Instrumental in engaging accounting alumni and accounting firms to donate funds for
scholarships, teaching fellowships, research fellowships and conferences with the aid of
the College development officer and the Dean. Our Department s annual donations have gone
from nearly zero to over $100,000 per year during the time I have served as chair.
Currently working to secure a $5 million gift to name a school of accounting. I was
offered $1 million, but the Dean and Vice President said it was not enough Am involved in
continuous fund-raising activities with public accounting firms and area corporations via
personal visits, group meetings with alumni, solicitation letters, etc.
Participated in the very successful capital campaign managed by the Dean and the college
development officer that resulted in our being able to build an $85 million dollar college
of business building which was opened in fall 2008. Also, we were able to secure an
additional $30 million endowment gift to name the College and use to enhance our programs.
Maintain a continuous outreach program to meet with alumni, accounting firms, corporate
officers and governmental agencies to explain our programs, communicate the need we have
for student scholarships and faculty recruitment.
Maintain a continuous outreach program to meet with the numerous community colleges with
which we have articulation agreements to discuss and update our programs.
