FUNDED RESEARCH AND SERVICE CONTRACTS
In 1995, Dr. Bagnato created Early Childhood Partnerships (ECP), an innovative community-
based prevention, intervention, service, and research collaborative representing a unique
University-Hospital-Community partnership. ECP is designed to provide on-site
collaborative consultation to professionals in schools, agencies, and public organizations
who serve families and young children (birth to 8 years of age) who are at developmental
risk or who have developmental disabilities. ECP is supported by diverse funding streams,
which represent joint ventures with various community partners who share common missions.
ECP is a collaborative program of Children s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of
Pittsburgh. ECP is currently supported with approximately $1 million in grant and contract
funding to operate varied consultation and applied research projects. ECP employs 22 full-
time and part-time interdisciplinary professionals and faculty as well as 14 graduate
student interns from Pitt and Duquesne Universities.
