About me
In this difficult business environment, your project s success depends upon the ability
of your team to grasp a problem, evaluate the best solution, and then work diligently
until the final product is completed while creatively incorporating any changes that may
arise. This is the process I have used during my professional and educational career.
Originally an interior design major, my education at Georgia Southern University has
given me the knowledge of problem solving using different aspects of design including
research, programming and space planning; not just the decorative aspects. I am
experienced in hand drafting, sketching, scale modeling and rendering as well as AutoCAD,
Architectural Desktop, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. Academically, I earned A s
in various courses including Three Dimensional Design, Professional Practices, CAD and
Building Codes. Through this success, I was honored by the Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor
Society, awarded Dean s List, received the Statesboro Home Builder s Association
Scholarship, and was selected by my professors to apply for the annual Donghia
Scholarship. In addition, I was elected the ASID Georgia Southern Student Chapter Class
Representative for four out of six studio courses by my classmates and CIDA Student
Council Member and Interior Design Student Representative for Georgia Southern by my
professors. These honors and achievements reflect my talent and admiration for the way the
principles of design are grasped and mastered.
Professionally, I have worked in a variety of design related and unrelated positions that
have greatly developed my work ethic both during and following my college career. I am
highly-customer oriented, pay close attention to details, and learn skills quickly;
possess the ability to delegate, coordinate events, and work well as a part of a team or
alone. Additionally, I am resourceful, capable of working within a given budget, and
aggressively meet deadlines under pressure while multi-tasking numerous projects.
The education and skills I have obtained have given me the opportunity to produce a
variety of theatrical sets, work closely with and as a part of the production team,
experience the wide range of work completed backstage, and play various roles in the
performing arts. I have no doubt that, with my current skills, I will be able to pick up
my responsibilities quickly & efficiently, while continuing to broaden them with each
project.
