Also experienced in the building and customizing Virtual Appliances Technologies (VMWare,

Xen and VirtualBox) and Grid & Cloud Computing Technologies, delivering the ultimate

deployment of network and applications solutions, faster and accuratelly to the Data-

Center. That consistently means very interesting cost reductions and manageable SLA's

(Service Level Agreements) according business needs.

2006-2008:

Studies on Information Science Technologies and trials & Proof-of-Concepts and successful

implementations with Open-Source and SaaS (Software-as-aService) platforms / solutions,

like Social Networks Platforms and integration, Wikis, KnowledgeWares, e-Learning

(Moodle), Web-Conferencing (Dimdim), Web Office & Productive Tools, e-learning systems and

ECM platforms (Enterprise Content Management - Alfresco).

Also involved with Business Intelligence & Data Minding like open-source Pentaho

(Pentaho) and Data Migrations from Talend (Talend).

2000-2006 :

* Studies and investigations on solutions for SOA and XML based architectures, enabling

IBM AS/400 ISeries "legacy" applications and workflows, to be modernised and face the

today's business requirements and IT challenges. Also in the migration of AS/400 systems

and legacy Rpg and Cobol applications to Open Systems (Unix Solaris, Linux), with DB2 to

Oracle and OLAP / BI capabilities.

* Architect / Consultant / Technology Advisor on a new concept in the "virtual desktop

environments", for the personal workstations, with VoIP integration and the support of

"Thin Client model", for a large bank organization PT. The concept involved Windows and

Linux e-collaborative environments and the adoption of virtualization technologies and

open-source applications, towards a "unified virtual desktop and productivity systems with

* Server Consolidation and Implementation Project, that included VSAN (Virtual Storage

Area Networks), adoption of O/S Virtualization Technologies, "Intel" based, with

virtualization VMWARE Enterprise solutions, Storage and Data Replication between remote

"Data-Centers" (Business Continuity) and IBM iSeries, with logical partitioning (LPAR).

With Open Source enterprise software, i have been involved in studies, evaluations, proof-

of-concept and implementations in areas like virtualization in general, Grid Computing

(XEN & DataSynapse), Cloud Computing Technologies (vCloud), Enterprise Document Content

Management (Wiki-Deki), Distributed Storage Virtualization (CleverSafe Dispersed Storage

Grid), VoIP Pabx (Asterisk Pabx), E-mail & Collaborative Tools (Zimbra / Linux), Desktop &

server Linux O/S, Server and Desktop Virtualization and Virtual Office Suites.
