CURRENT APPOINTMENT
PhD Candidate, U.C. Berkeley, September 2006 -present
I develop empirical and analytical methods that integrate data from several
spatiotemporal scales to estimate
anthrax incidence in the plains zebra of Etosha National Park and assess the potential
causes and community -
wide consequences of this disease. I also explore how anthrax outbreaks affect black-
backed jackal movement,
foraging decisions, and subsequent implications for rabies virus and c anine distemper
virus epidemiology in
carnivores. Finally, I am using Demographic Health Survey data from countries across
Africa to understand the
proportion of HIV transmission due to extramarital intercourse.
