Reconstruction of numerous plasmid constructs in Monsanto s proprietary construct

software and database, produce document training manuals for instruction in the use of

proprietary cloning software. Development of a training program in the use of DNA sequence

assembly software. Above average knowledge of Molecular biology software: NCBI DNA seqence

databases, Incyte: LIFE SEQ, PYTO SEQ, GCG s 'Wisconsin Package', Seq Lab and command line

interface, DNA Star's 'Laser Gene', and Gen Codes 'Sequencher'. Advanced knowledge of UNIX

glycosylation of protein localized to the blood brain barrier. Studies centered around

differential changes in glut1protein localized to the blood brain barrier. Secondary

experiments were to determine changes in the inorganic phosphorus levels in the blood of

rats with induced diabetes

HIV research. Mutation to the tat protein resulted in development of a transdominant

mutant capable of repressing reproduction of the AID s virus. Synthesis of protein E1 and

mutants necessary in research of the Human Papillomavirus. Synthesis of the native E1A

protein and mutants related to the Adenovirus. My work in this project was as a protein

chemist. Produced over 300 synthetic peptides. Produced thousands of clones. Expressed DNA

and protein from bacterial and mammalian cell lines. Work also involved development of

databases necessary to organization and archival of: bacterial, viral, and mammalian DNA

sequence data and cell stock in the laboratory

annotation. At Monsanto, I developed a Sequence management course, a basic GCG course, a

course in Bacterial Artificial cloning and sequence map construction; in addition I

developed a map construction software manual. I put together a steering committee

necessary to the development of a Bacterial Artificial Cloning software application

developed in JAVA. In appreciation of these skills I have attended courses in C, data

structures, C++ Advanced shell scripting, SQL, an HTML. Additionally I attained course

work in Computational Molecular biology at Washington University School of Medicines

"Center for Computational Biology", additionally I have attended advanced training program

at the Genetics Computer group facility, Middleton Wisconsin.
