I helped perform duties alongside of a Hydrologic Technician as well as a Forestry Technician.
I served as a member of the survey crew for the building of a wetland, performing duties in support of the watershed program under the direction of the Forrest Hydrologist John Walker. Survey work was conducted primarily over the Cumberland Ranger District, but some work occurred on another district. Tasks that included channel type and condition surveys, karst stream insurgence and resurgence characterization, water quality monitoring, watershed improvement need inventories related to system and non-system roads on the forest, wetland delineation, stream and wetland restoration work.
I served as a member of the trail crew and performed duties in support of the trails program under the direction of the district Recreation Specialist and Recreation Technician. Maintaining and reconstructing trails and identifying trail problems. Work was primarily on the Cumberland Ranger DIstrict. Tasks included using various tools and equipment to maintain and construct trails, install water-bars and to move or transport personnel and equipment to project areas. I performed independently and dependently as a crew member in maintenance and reconstruction of trail improvement projects. I monitored and reported on trail conditions.
