Consultant as Senior PCB Designer in Engineering Department of the Test and Measurement division using Cadence Design Sytems Concept for schematic entry, and Allegro for printed circuit design. Primary duties include preliminary design floorplanning with Analog/Digital, Mechanical, Test, Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering groups prior to initial schematic capture. Initiate DFM process with parts placement, and preliminary design reviews. Perform interactive manual routing of printed circuit designs. Finalize all design data, and coordinate validation and approval of all artwork and associated documentation. Select approved vendors, and initiate cost quotation and scheduling of pc board fabrication. Vendor follow up includes continuous communication during the fabrication process, evaluation of fabricated pc boards, follow through with manufacturing, assembly, test and calibration, inspection, and into finished product. Documentation of all quality and reliability issues related to the pc board design. Participates in post-mortem of pc board designs for improved quality, reliability, and lower costs.
