JOB RESPONCIBILITIES
As a Fire supervisor at Hyderabad (India) Rajivgandhi International Airport Limited.
• Competent in the operation of all ARFF equipment including fire appliances and other emergency vehicles.
• Thorough knowledge of the emergency procedures pertaining to the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting service.
• Thorough knowledge of the aircrafts operating from the Airport in respect of the location and operation of doors
and emergency exits, fuel tanks and other fire risks and also to participate in the internal and ext ernal
familiarization of aircraft operating from the airport.
• Good working knowledge of the general layout of the Airport including the entire operational area with grid
reference, and locations of the hangars, buildings, emergency exit gates, water supplies and fire hydrants.
• Maintain a high level of competence on all ARFF equipment, practices and procedures by undertaking regular
training and assessments on all aspects of the job and by attaining ICAO qualifications and attending other
training courses as required.
• Carry out daily, weekly and periodical tests and inspections of all fire appliances and fire service equipment.
• Maintain the ARFF stations, offices and vehicles in a clean and presentable condition by carrying out cleaning
and maintenance as required.
• Ensure that all Fire Equipment is serviceable and immediately available for emergency use.
• Participate in fire drills/exercises with staff and other Emergency services, to refresh and enhance skills to ensure
personnel remain fully effective.
• Man the Fire Control Desk as part of AOCC activities to monitor alarm activations and co-ordinate with Fire
Safety Assistant and CCTV confirmation of the presence of fire to determine level of support required by ARFF
and Emergency Services to respond to a fire emergency situation at the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB).
Ensure the functionality of TRS, PA System and of all relevant Fire System as follows:
Smoke Detector, Manual Call Point, Emergency generators/pumps, Lift interface, Sprinkler, Hose reel, Wet riser,
Intercom,
S moke Control System and Air Circulation
• Monitor all fire fighting installation are in working order in the Fire Control Room.
• Competent in the operation of all fire emergency equipment so as to act as a first line response capable of
identifying a fire hazard and controlling a small to medium fire.
• Thorough knowledge of the emergency procedures pertaining to the fire alarm system activation, ident ification,
isolation and evacuation of persons where necessary.
• Thorough knowledge of the locations and operating characteristics of smoke, heat and fire detection devices
through a graphical electronic schematic chart.
• Good working knowledge of the general layout of the PTB including the location of the buildings, emergency exit
routes, water supplies and fire hydrants.
• High level of competence on all emergency fire equipment, practices and procedures by undertaking regular
checks and assessments on all aspects of the job.
