Technical task details >>>

o We support approx. 800 database instances on Unix OS which includes

Production, Staging & development database environment.

o Coordination and follow-up with Oracle support (metalink) for

respective SR requests.

o Coordination and discussion with users and client for respective

database requests.

o File system management at OS level in coordination with Unix Team.

o Database Space management - Tablespace monitoring & managing

tablespaces below threshold limit by resizing data files or adding

more datafiles.

o File system High Utilization & follow-up for cleanup activities etc.

o Identifying and sorting DB Link issues.

o As per ORA errors, identifying the requirement & changing database

parameters and perform DB bounce.

o Checking and validating all Invalid Database objects and related

same with email notifications.

o Script deployments & code migrations as per user request with valid

approvals for production databases and giving troubleshooting

o User management tickets which includes user creations, giving grants,

roles and assigning profiles as per the request and process with

valid approvals.

o Schema & Table level data Refresh taken as a project activity.

Refresh is done with the export-import approach as disabling

constraints & triggers, dropping indexes, truncating tables and after

Import is done, enabling the same constraints & triggers with index

creation.

o DB & Server level performance monitoring with OEM for any performance

issues to trace top activities, top sqls etc. In case of performance

related issues w.r.t. SQL tuning, using OEM plays importance role in

identify badly affecting SQL queries which causes Table level locks

and Dead locks etc. Also it's useful to identify various server,

Databases, Agents mapped to concern OEM and their respective status.

We also use OEM to set "Black-out" for Server Reboot activity.

o Using TOAD as DB tool for various requirements of Source code &

Script deployments related tickets and for using session browser for

session level monitoring. Also it's useful to login to databases

w.r.t. TNS string in cases of not having respective server logins.

o Tablespace Reorg activity done on many Production databases for

Tablespace space management.

o Setup various Email Alerts & Automations and its notifications as a

part of Value-Additions to the project. We need to present all kind

of Value-Additions that we do; to our Client in our monthly meetings.

o Appworx version 6 is a job scheduling third-party software, we use

for execution of Batch jobs, Chains etc. we get automated tickets and

email if any chain or job fails, we check in Appworx for respective

log file and fix the same accordingly.

Non-Technical task details >>>

o Excellent written, verbal communication and team coordination skills.

o We are using "BMC Remedy 7" as a ticketing tool to resolve client's /

user's project & issues specific ticket requests. We have to make

sure tickets should not to go out-of-SLA as well as keep control on

SLA ratings.

o I have consistently achieved to always be in TOP 5 DBAs in case of

"Performance & Productivity index" of every month. Our managers

releases Performance & Productivity index every month for our DBA

team w.r.t. various parameters & statistical calculations.

o I have worked as a "Shift Lead" for a long time. Shift Lead has added

role & responsibility of monitoring Remedy ticket queue, taking lead

role in handling escalations & also assigning to respective

resources.

o Along with Rotational shift-wise DBA support in 3 shifts, I am

working for 24x7 On-call DBA support to our client w.r.t. tickets and

planned / scheduled activities. Also providing Extended DBA support

for "On-call" weekends and sometimes work-from-home, after working

hours too.

Engine Business Unit (EBU)". Process benefits: Clubbing of small

databases to have greater control and monitoring, thereby reducing

Reduction in the number of databases handled will decrease the

efforts and time required to monitor and maintain these databases. As

a result, the monthly cost of maintaining these databases will be

Sox is a audit concept implemented on Production databases which

enables to capture all database level DDL's and w.r.t. ticket details

etc. we have quarterly SOX audits which includes all SOX details of
