Successes

Performed key roles in meeting company targets and ensuring the successful

launch of warehouse facility growth; activities included hiring over 150

new employees within a one-year period. Structured and implemented programs

and policies in the area of compensation & benefit, recruiting, selection &

orientation and training & development.

Promoted solid HR presence and open door policies which contributed to a

positive work environment, this rewarded the company with solid employee

relationship which contributed to a 40% improvement in attendance and 21%

reduction in turnover. In addition, due to a strong human resources

presence, three outside industry inspired union drives were squashed over a

two and a half year period. Note: after dismantling the strong human

resources team due to US expansion the company became unionized under one

and a half year period.

Throughout the course of my career, I have maintained above standard health

and safety committees, programs and safety groups. Safety programs reducing

injuries an average of up to 20%, met all return to work requirements and

continually challenged outstanding claim decision for validity and

individual or company responsibilities. On a previously open WSIB case a

review and appeal was won and the company was refunded approximately

$100,000 paid claim and company allowable claim was revised from 100%

allowable to 25% allowable under LTD.

Professional Experience

. Solely responsible for managing multiple areas in human resources

department including health and safety committee, WSIB claims

management, payroll and benefits administration US and Canada,

recruiting & selection, updating HRIS, employee relation issues and

special projects.

. Performed payroll functions included gathering and calculation of

weekly time sheets and entering data for up to 250 employees and

generated ROE's and T4's. Worked with ADP, International Time

Recording, and Time Star for ADP, Payworks, Payflex, Ceridian payroll

and HRIS systems. Use of Microsoft Office and Lotus Application and

internal WMS.

. Monitored absenteeism, turnovers, job satisfaction and assisted in the

development of performance evaluation.

. Jointly responsible for counselling, progressive disciplining and

terminating of employees.

. Chaired Health and Safety Meetings ran Voice of Employee Meetings

organized Social Committed and hosted events.

. Managed and participated in case files for ESA and Human Right claims.

. Assisted with implementing ISO 2000 by rewriting policies and

completing training programs for production facility in addition to

monitoring HCAAP for cold storage warehouse.

. Managed team of up to 22 employees under HR umbrella and office

manager responsibilities; which included invoicing and various types

of reports.
