I am applying for the Program Director position. I have expertise in the area of Community Outreach,
Development and Organizing and Volunteer Management. I have extensive knowledg e in the areas of
Administration, Student Leadership and Organizations, Recruitment, Promotions, Event Coordinating,
Project Management, Women Empowerment, Youth Mentoring, Public Relations and Staff and
Leadership development.
Since May 2011, I have gained experience by working for the Michigan Suburbs Alliance/Warm Training
Center as an Outreach Manager and Project Coordinator for the Southeast Regional Energy Office.
During this time, I promoted the Department of Energy BetterBuildings for Michigan Energy Efficiency
neighborhood initiative by doing direct outreach by way of door-to-door canvassing; creating project
plans, coordinating logistics for events, staff meetings, in-service, annual fundraisers and community
stakeholder meetings. I also assisted with facilitating and conducting informational energy educational
meetings for the different cities and neighborhoods. I also represented the Outreach Team at city council
meetings, parent teacher organization meetings as well as the Neighborhood Watch Organization
meetings.
I have the ability to organize, motivate and inspire others, and interact with all people of any respective
community. Not only can I offer you reliability, positive energy, and enthusiasm, I also have
demonstrated the ability to respond to the information needs of the community by engaging individuals
about the different facets of poverty, advocating for rights for all people and fighting against Domestic
Violence. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and African American Studies in
2006. I am currently studying for a graduate degree in Organizational Development, Non-Profit
Management and Project Management.
Some of the specialties I possess are vibrant communication and leadership skills, project management,
event planning, multi-tasking, public speaking, creating press releases, client proposals, workshop
facilitation, strategic planning, building group dynamics, recruitment, team -building and conflict
resolution, promoting events, leadership development, creating brands and slogans. I am proficient in
Microsoft Office Suites such as Word, Publisher, Access, Excel, SharePoint, Project and PowerPoint,
Data Entry, and can type 72 WPM.
