Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist performs assigned imaging studies to facilitate diagnosis and evaluation for Medical Provider staff. Performs a variety of radiographic, CT, and Fluoroscopic examinations such as routine, difficult, and complex, studies in department as well as OR and on the wards/units. Receives and explains procedures, positions patients, selects and sets technical factors, sets up and adjust accessory equipment required and makes exposures necessary for the requested procedure. Managed administration of contrast agents via auto injector and orally for patients in order to perform enhanced contrast imaging studies in CT and Fluoroscopy. Independently performs radiological examinations: confers with the on-call radiologist to establish requirements of non standard examinations; confers with the on-call radiologist to establish requirements of nonstandard examinations and to determine technical factors, positioning, number and thickness cut of scans, etc., to satisfy the requirements of the examination. Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures and rearranges patient priorities to accommodate the more urgent studies requested. Maintains flawless records of patient examinations performed. In addition, maintains a record of CT scan studies performed. Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all imaging equipment ias required. Performs quality control/assurance checks on completed CT scans to ensure optimally diagnostic images are referred for radiologist’s interpretation. Independently performs standard radiographic examinations of the head, trunk and extremities for diagnoses of illness and injuries. Receives patients and explains examinations to be performed, ensuring patients are properly attired and prepared before positioning patient for requested examinations.
