Electronics & Computing. (UK).

Work experience

I have worked continuously since 1995 on long-term space programmes: often from programmes’

inception (‘cradle’) to the end (‘grave’). I started working as a ‘Research Associate’ at University of

Kent. My role was to provide support in the development of the ‘Surface Science Package’: duties

included instrument calibration, testing, helping with design and spacecraft integration. Later, our

group (and I) moved to the Open University, my role changed from development / testing to post

launch monitoring and analysis; applying for funding for new projects, and in the last 5 years to data

analysis.

Other Skills:

(1) Data Analysis - I have broad experience in analysing data using statistical methods (such as

Bayesian, PDF, Binomial likelihoods), as well as good understanding of mathematical

techniques (such as Fourier Transforms, Differential equations etc).

(2) Technical Authoring - have written, provided inputs to, and reviewed several technical

documents: from preparing software acceptance test plans, to architecture/system design, to

bid documents. I have also published in per reviewed Science Journals.

bread-boarding solutions. I can also simulate Analogue and Digital circuit behaviour using

generic components and MIT’s sandbox.

(4) Project Management – Prepared funding applications. Coordinated workflow between

different sub-contracting teams. Can also prepare man-power estimates to show the amount

of effort required to undertake a given task.

Although I have tried to summarise what I can recollect, I might have missed or only

briefly touched on a few important areas for your specific contract need.
