PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project was sponsored by UGC SAP, under the theme Biometric

multimodal system development. Each person has unique signature. The

signature is special type of handwriting with characters and flourishes.

Now a day's various frauds are happening in online banking, e-business.

To avoid these type of problems we have designed online signature

recognition system.

The online signature recognition system is divided into main functional

blocks:

Firstly, we take signature of person by the use of digitizing pen tablet.

Ten signature samples will be taken from each user. Those samples will

store in database. On those samples we will apply various preprocessing

techniques like noise reduction, binarization, thinning, and thickening.

After that in features will be extracted. After classification of

features matching process is done and finally genuine signature will be

recognized.

This project involves developing an signature recognition system in

order to verify the uniqueness of the human signature by detecting the

signature pattern from the image.

Through this project we can achieve the following objectives:

. Develop a user-friendly system

. Use it for identification of person.
