Production and Planning Control Coordinator

Coordinate many of the daily inter-department activities. Liaison between all departments to ensure quality

customer service from the accurate scheduling and processing of orders within the system through the timely

delivery of orders. Purchase attachments and order import machines for the respective assigned models. The

primary goal is to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and production efficiencies.

Production Planning Activities

•Implement the Line-on Schedule for specific models including imports by creating and/or slotting

orders.

•Analyze history and adjust future stock orders to decrease the amount of possible changes.

•Analyze incoming orders and match them to the oldest possible orders creating the fewest

changes or schedule them in the earliest forecasted slot.

• Research inventory levels to meet spec changes.

•Purchase 3 party allied attachments for assigned models and expedite the delivery of the

attachments and coordinate the installation of the attachments.

•Purchase import machines from overseas factories for the models assigned to the coordinator.

Coordinate the delivery location and assign sales orders to the import machines.

•Coordinate the purchase of extra parts in time to be picked and assembled before required

shipment.

•Coordinate spec changes to the schedule with all areas of Manufacturing to ensure timely

shipment

•Work with the Cost Control and Manufacturing Engineering departments to fix cost and allocation

errors on production orders.

•Release shop floor and warehouse paperwork and change assembly orders as required.

•Track changes and confirm with the stockyard that the machines and loose parts are shipped with

the correct specs.

• Update the shipping dates when the stockyard has been requested to ship early.

•Process orders for outsourced material, including: accept order for modifications, place orders for

required parts, consistently contact the vendor for updates to ensure the timely availability and

shipment of the completed product, process payment for the vendor, coordinate the delivery and

invoicing of the machine.

•Coordinate the ordering, pulling and/or assembling and shipping of parts required for field

campaigns.

• Confirm the implementation of SFRs.

• Track serial numbers for each model.

• Update spreadsheets for internal use for the scheduling of machines.

• Update the monthly outlook to report the achievement versus the commitment.

• Manually execute MRP when necessary.

• Perform miscellaneous projects for management including: BOM maintenance, data analysis,

meeting preparation, inventory counts and special research.

End Result: Coordinate all activities to ensure the efficient movement of raw materials, work in progress and

finished goods and that all orders are filled accurately and in a timely manner; thus, ensuring the effective

utilization of inventory. The Production Planning & Control Department is the central department within the plant.

Fabrication Planning Activities

• Create and maintain fabrication schedule

•Ensure frames, booms, and arms are fabricated correctly and attached to correct machine.

• Monitor and correct receiving and issuing errors

• Maintain safety stock

• Create and maintain routings.

End Result:

Customer Support Activities (CSA)

• Check that all sales orders are accurately slotted within the system.

• Run a report to determine new orders and slot them for MRP to order and Manufacturing to

build or for the stockyard to ship.

• Assist in any overflow of calls, concerning the shipments and future availability of machines,

from DBs or fill-in when the Master Scheduler is unavailable.

• Coordinate the assembly of replacement parts as quickly as possible for machines which are

down or which need to be replaced due to a quality issue.

End Result: Ensure that the customer’s orders are placed accurately and timely so that they may receive their

order as quickly as possible. Also to create a communication link from the plant to the distributor for all

information they may require regarding their machine.

Inventory Control Activities

• Determine forecasting for new models or sales codes.

• Request adjustments to inventory to correct the implementation of BOM changes.

• Analyzes, determines and coordinates inventory availability dates with required dates by

planning, prioritizing and initiating production work orders and purchase requisitions.

End Result: Adjust forecasting or request safety stock level changes to meet inventory and requirement needs.

Request expediting/de-expediting activities.

Planning for the Future Activities

• Learn about new model and part changes to provide the customer with the best match to meet

the requirements of their orders.

• Enter forecasts and sales orders for new models.

• Confirm the entering of costs, routings, allocations and prices for new models.

End Result: Make adjustments to conform to engineering, manufacturing and quality changes to ensure the

customer receives the most current parts to fulfill their order.
