Professional Experience
University of texas at dallas, department of chemistry, richardson, tx
2010- 2012
. Successfully synthesized Oligomer with Wurster's Crown for the capture
of Alkali metals ions like Li+, Na+ & K+ as a model compound of
Wurster's Poly(p-phenylene vinylene)
. Studied Organic Host-Guest Chemistry of the end product
. Investigated the fluorescence and electrochemical properties and
compared with the Wurster's PPV. The Oligomer exhibited reversible
electrochemistry with three oxidation and three reduction peaks; while
Wurster's PPV showed irreversible electrochemistry
. Oligomer could be used as switchable sensors and have reusable property.
. Operated 270 MHz and 500 MHz Brucker's NMR, Infrared Spectrophotometer
for identifying the compounds and UV-Vis & Fluorescence
spectrophotometer, Cyclic voltammetery for characterization
. Worked on Column Chromatography, Thin Layer Chromatography for
separation of products from impurities
TEACHER ASSISTANT, UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS, RICHARDSON,TX
2011-2012
. Organized and conducted laboratory classes for organic chemistry
undergraduates
. Review sections, graded lab reports and exams
. Supervised discussion sessions and office hours.
Chemistry Internship, IPCA laboratories, Ratlam, MP, India
2008
. Worked as a research assistant for IPCA Pharmaceutical Scientist
. Trained in both organic and inorganic synthetic techniques, including
characterization
. Analyzed different stages of production of Ibuprofen
. Handled instruments such as HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography),
GC (Gas Chromatography), Infrared Spectrophotometer, UV-Vis
Spectrophotometer, Thin Layer Chromatography
. Interpreted results for chemical interactions in drug analysis and
logged into database, allowing scientists to verify results at any stage
of production cycle
Chemistry Internship, Lupin Limited, Bhopal, MP, India
2007
. Examined intermediate and final drug products manufactured in Lupin
. Ran instruments like HPLC, Moisture Meter, Turbid metric assays,
Disintegrator
