Resume:

COVER LETTER

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please consider the attached resume as my application for the position Research Officer. I

respectfully submit this letter of application, for I believe my experience are well qualified to meet

the needs of the project.

I have completed my post graduation in Organic Chemistry with First class with distinction

from Pune University in July 2007. Having strong desire to work in challenging field of chemistry

and wanting to work on something helpful to the scientific community and humanity currently I

am working with Herbert-Brown Pharmaceuticals and Research lab. Mumbai as a Research Officer

in Research & Development department.

As a postgraduate student at Pune University I gained a concrete knowledge in theoretical

as well as practical aspects of Organic Chemistry. Especially the Laboratory sessions of Multistep

organic synthesis, photochemical reactions, organic product extractions & Chromatographic

separation methods developed a great deal of laboratory skills and provided me with enthusiasm

and zeal to work in the field of Organic Chemistry. During my academic career I have conducted

project of ‘Preparation of Bis-imido Schiff’s bases and their different metal complexes’ like Zn, Hg,

Fe, Mn, etc. derived from 5-chlorosalicyaldehyde and thio-semicarbazide having positive anti-

microbial activity towards enzymes like E-coli, Shingella, Ksabeilla, etc. Also I have present my

above project work in AVISHKAR-2006 an Inter University Research Project Competition for

UG/PG/Doctoral students during post graduation study which was arranged by University of Pune,

INDIA in 2006.

During my working experience as a Research Officer at Herbert-Brown Pharmaceuticals

and research lab. I came across some of the many difficulties faced during Organic synthesis.

Troubleshooting such difficulties & looking for alternative process through literature search in case

problem was not solved, gave me a good learning experience and developed me as a strong

organic chemist. Also working in a team during the process development of Active Pharmaceutical

Ingredients (API’s) developed in me a good amount of team working and interpersonal skills.

Besides my main responsibility, I also accomplished some research independently or in a team

mainly in process development of API’s, these practices give me skill in the application of the

same.

My studies in chemistry not only provide me strong background and research experience in

it but also in its application in many fields like medicinal & industrial field. Several courses and

project provide me broad view of organic chemistry which helpful for medicinal field. Moreover my

theoretical knowledge and Industrial Research experience would allow me to pursue cutting edge

research in field of Organic Chemistry.

Thanking you for considering my application and I look forward to your positive response.

Sincerely,

Santosh
