Objective and Professional Summary
My objective is to join a Chiropractic practice where my successful track
record of treating patients for the past two plus (+2) years in a high
volume practice, combined with my previous corporate sales and
entrepreneurial experience can help a practice retain and grow its
satisfied patient volume resulting in increased revenues and profits. The
result of achieving this objective will enhance my Chiropractic career,
increase my earnings and position me to achieve my ultimate objective of
eventually owning my own practice. Therefore, my objectives should be
aligned very well with any Chiropractic practice striving for growth.
In addition to having very good chiropractic skills in treating patients, I
also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which all
combined to create an excellent reputation with patients. I recently left a
very successful, established practice on Southern California to move back
home to Texas. My recent patients in that practice not only kept coming
back for treatment but also referred other patients to me. My patients
were very sorry to lose me as their doctor with written comments like:
"Dr. Jeff, you are not only an amazing doctor, but are an amazing
person! I have grown to love you and I always look forward to your
sweet smile! I wish the best for you in your journey. Be happy and
know that you have left a special mark on my heart!" - Patty Peshek,
(patient).
"Dr. Jeff, Gee- after I just got to know you and feel the expertise
and knowledge of your hands- a true loss to this practice. Best of
luck to you and your family in Tx."- Ruth Melvostatd, (patient)
"Dr. Jeff, Thank you so much! We will miss you!"- Rob, Shatzi and baby
Dillon, (patient family).
"Dr. Jeff, you are an incredible doctor, but more important, an
amazing person! God Bless you and your son and you 'SOAR Like
EAGLES'!" Love, Vikki Goodman. (Patient).
Any successful business, such as a Chiropractic practice, is made up of a
team of people and for the business to be successful a teamwork environment
is essential. I am proven team player and leader. When I notified the
California practice that I was moving back to Texas, the following are
examples of comments from my office staff, massage therapists and practice
owner:
"Doctor! I have provided you with the recipe. You have all the
ingredients. I know you will be a tremendous success building your own
dream practice. I am here for you to "coach" you along the way. We are
soooo sad to see you go but very happy for you! Good luck and y'all
come back now P.S. "Fight on!", "T-Rex - Dr. P. (Dr. Petersen,
practice owner)
"Dear Dr. Jeff, knowing you has enhanced my life in so many ways! I am
so thankful to have known you, and you are wonderful! I will come
visit."- Keaton Gallaher (C.A. also from Texas)
"Dr. Jeff, I don't even know where to begin. Your happy, sweet,
positive personality is the one thing I always looked forward to when
walking in the door! I will so miss you whistling, smiling and
contagious love for life. I will miss how you light up when sharing
stories about your son. The office will not be the same without your
sunshine! Texas is lucky to get you... California will be sad. Best to
you, Love MaryKay, (massage therapist)"
Prior to entering the Chiropractic field, I had developed a solid
professional background with more than ten (10) years of experience in
hardware and software technology sales to medium and large sized
businesses. I also owned and operated a World Gym franchise which provided
me excellent experience with the marketing and sales efforts required to
increase and retain members, and the financial skills necessary to operate
a business. While earning my undergraduate degree, I worked as a personal
trainer at several fitness gyms and was a partner in operating a different
World Gym franchise than the one noted above.
This sales and entrepreneurial experience, in addition to my Chiropractic
skills and background, positions me very well as a strong addition to any
Chiropractic practice, especially one looking for a high growth rate and
patient retention.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
Doctor of Chiropractic - Sycamore Chiropractic
2010-2013 - San Juan Capistrano, California
Sycamore Chiropractic is a 13 year old high, volume practice treating
50-70 patients per day. It is also in a highly competitive market.
The Doctor/owner, Dr. Petersen, wanted to expand and grow his practice
and also be able to take some personal time off that he had not been
able to do since he was the only doctor in the practice.
I joined Sycamore as the Associate Doctor and came up to speed very
quickly with the patient treatments and office operations. I was
responsible for growing our new patient base and treating existing and
new patients with the best quality Chiropractic care. I was also
responsible for new patient consultations, exams, x-rays, developing
and analyzing x-rays, report of findings, and recommendations and
management of patient care needs. Prior to my joining, the practice
was closed on Saturday and only open days on Tuesday and Thursday.
When I joined we extended the hours of operations to full days
Tuesdays and Thursdays and days on Saturdays.
I attended health fairs, spinal screenings, and provided health talks
and seminars to local community groups such as Mothers of Preschoolers
(MOPS), San Juan Nights, and others in order to gain new patients and
grow revenue for the practice.
After a few months of working at the practice, Dr. Petersen began
taking more and more vacation time off to spend much earned time with
his family. I was left to treat all patients and run the daily
operations of the practice. In addition to treating 50-70 patients per
day, I also made follow-up calls and held spinal screening events at
local shopping malls on weekends to grow the practice. I also
managed, motivated, and worked energetically with the office staff.
Coming in early and staying late to assist the staff with opening and
closing duties was a common practice for me.
District Manager - Konica Minolta
2003-2004 - Houston, Texas
I was responsible for managing and growing a territory in the 4th
largest city in the country. I worked closely with CEO's, CFO's and
other senior managers of medium to large-sized companies in assisting
them to improve operational efficiencies. At Konica Minolta we
provided document management software and hardware solutions which
integrated the information aspects of a company's operations both
locally and internationally. To grow sales I prospected in businesses
locally, attended trade shows and events like chamber of commerce
meeting. I also started a "lunch and learn" group ( made up of sales
professionals from various industries) that met once a month to share
best practices and leads to grow our joint businesses. I had a staff
of three (3) that assisted me in my sales efforts.
President/Owner - World Gym Family Fitness Center
1997-1999 - Ft. Worth, Texas
2000-2003 - Temple, Texas
I was responsible for daily operations, sales, personal training,
fiscal planning, budgeting, payroll, and monthly financial statements.
In addition to running the day to day operations, hiring and training
staff in all departments, and heading up our sales department, I was
also responsible for managing staff that at one time totaled more than
50 full and part time employees.
I also sought out, organized and integrated corporate relationships
and corporate accounts to grow our corporate business in addition to
individual memberships. I developed partnerships with large companies
like McLane Foods, and Scott & White Hospital, to provide their
employees discounted memberships that were paid for monthly by these
companies. Additionally, I worked with the cardiac center and gastric
bypass divisions of Scott & White Hospital to provide a facility at my
gym and exercise program for recovering patients. I also conducted
monthly health seminars at these companies for their employees to
encourage healthier lifestyles.
The first year of owning the facility, after establishing corporate
relationships with above mentioned clients, I grew the gross annual
profits from $650,000 to $850,000, and the following year did over $1
million in gross revenue.
Sales Manager/Personal Trainer - World Gym Austin & Future Firm
1991-1997 - Austin, Texas (various locations)
I was responsible for growing the membership base, educating
prospective and new members of effective nutrition and exercise
programs to improve overall health and well-being. I would bring in
outside healthcare professionals to give health talks to our members
and to bring in new members to our facilities. These turned into
health fairs, which helped maintain a happy membership base while
continuing to bring in new members. This is also how I met the
Chiropractor that got me interested in the Chiropractic profession.
