Tru64 is a 64 bit operating system running on Alpha servers (RISC) for
enterprise market.Tru64 is a multiple address space monolithic kernel. It
has advanced files system, and has support for clustering.
Job duties and responsibilities:
. Own Tru64 kernel components - virtual memory, process management,
scheduler, networking components
. Fix various major defects in Tru64 kernel on time
. On-call support 24/7 for critical customer issues.

. Reviewer for code change/fix

. Test case execution, defect tracking, defect verification.
1. Working as module owner for kernel/vm team, for Tru64 UNIX operating
system.
. Day to day work includes analyzing, debugging and solving problems
reported by Tru64's customers and by internal test teams.
. Analyzing and debugging the kernel defects involves understanding
the design logic, code traversal, coding C programs to
reproduce/simulate the customer issue, instrumenting the kernel to
fix/test the solution.
. Familiar with debugging tools like dbx and crash to analyze core
dumps for kernel panics and dbx, gdb for user level processes
