Reads repair and wiring diagrams for the purpose of repairing mechanical devices.

Performs general/major overhaul, rebuilding, troubleshooting and repair work on automotive, diesel and

mechanical equipment.

Performs minor/major auto and equipment body repairs and painting as needed.

Safely operates all equipment the village owns including heavy construction and machinery ie.

Journeyman Diesel Engine Technician

Complete engine swaps, and the complete disassembly and reassembly of every type of Caterpillar engine

but not limited to just Cat's.

Diagnose and solve severe electrical and mechanical problems daily.

Have exceptional training and experience on Caterpillar engine diagnostic computers, and special tooling

required

for the rebuilding/replacing of injection pumps, injectors, injector cups, cam timing gears, cylinder sleeve

removal and installation, piston/rod, valve train, overhead and lower end, along with any accessories

i nvolved in the removal/rebuilding/reinstalling of a diesel engine.

Able and qualified to operate tractor trailer, tow t ruck, lift t ruck, buses, fire t ruck as well as fifty ton and

below recovery vehicles. Daily duties consists with the use of I-beam engine hoist, full computerized dyno,

l ift t rucks, and acoustic parts cleaning equipment.

Able and certified mig, tig, arc, welder, trained and use breaks and 60ton iron workers.
