Manage plate cutting department, which involves: supervising personnel, programming, operation and
maintenance of waterjet and plasma CNC cutting machines, material tracking, job bidding and
scheduling, and customer interaction. Recently assumed management of a business expansion, which
included the addition of a second CNC cutting table, designing the layout of a new warehouse facility
and manufacturing environment, and training and management of new staff.
Notable accomplishments:
• Improved department efficiency by creating a more effective floor plan. Resulting consolidation
increased floor space by approximately 25% and drastically reduced material handling time.
• Reduced repair costs, as well as equipment down time, by up to 50% with a rigid maintenance
schedule. Plate cutting department has not experienced an unplanned machine outage in over 2
years.
• Reduced cost by an estimated 20% on a recent project with a manufacturing plan that reduced part
production time as well as scrap of expensive Inconel alloy material.
Responsible for all CAD drafting and design tasks. Communicate with engineers and designers internally
and externally to ensure proper documentation and drawing interpretation. Tasked with identifying
software needs relating to drafting, design, and manufacturing, and implementing the software into the
regular work flow. These primarily include: AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for drafting and design,
and nesting software for programming plate cutting machines.
Routinely integrate quality control, including part inspection, and understanding and applying GD&T.
Implement manufacturing methods for corporate clients with exacting standards in heavily regulated
industries such as energy, oil and gas, and petrochemical. Requirements include creating and interpreting
manufacturing drawings, specifying manufacturing processes, perpetuating a safe work environment, and
maintaining detailed records, including but not limited to work orders, bills of material, and mill test
reports.
