Duties: Welded metal parts or components together using a mig welding machine.
Repaired broken or cracked parts. Filled in holes and increased size of metal parts
also using a mig welder. Inspected finished work pieces conformance to
specification. Chipped and ground excess weld, slag, or splatter using hand
scrapers, power grinders and cutting equipment. Positioned work pieces and
clamped them together using jigs to assemble the products. Reviewed layouts,
diagrams and work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.

Duties: Operated forklift to move material to my work areas. Removed the
completed flatbed truck bodies from off of the jig out of the fabrication shop over
to the paint shop or the mounting area. Also moved older or damaged truck
bodies to my work area to weld on and to add on or to repair the body. Follow work order
to make sure the job is done correctly. I started with raw materials to build or to
fabricate the flatbed bodies. Cut materials with torches and hydraulic sheers.
Welded the cut material to form the flatbed body. Built from the frame up to
complete the body. Cut out, framed out and welded the bulkhead onto the body.
Welded the serial number onto the frame of the body. Cut and put in stake side
pockets. Cut out and put the skirt on the body. Fabricated the fifth-wheel and ball
hitch to some frames. Built stake rack sides, back removable, permanent or
swinging. Built framework for lights in bulkhead or skirt. Built heavy duty
bumpers, fuel tanks, ladder racks, step bars and also water cooler holders. Kept
track of time and the materials needed to build the body. Kept the workplace clean
and safe to work in.

up forklifts and trucks every morning to make sure that everything was in the
