Duties: My supervisor issues instruction on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines and relies upon me to assure that other members of the group carry out work assignments. Supervisor is available to provide information or decisions regarding problems that may arise during work. Overall work operations are reviewed for status, progress, and causes of delays and other problems.

I serve as a working leader of approximately 30 employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. The highest level of non-supervisory work, which is performed and led, is Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, WG5803-10. I perform and lead a variety of mechanical duties involved in the complete assembly and final check of MKI and MKII boats to include reassemble, replacing parts and components, aligning and adjusting, locating and repairing malfunctions, and operation of boat during lake test to diagnose malfunctions. Performs necessary travel (CONUS and/or OCONUS) independently or as a team member to designated activities in the performance of on-site rebuild/repair work.

I pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, demonstrate proper work methods, and start work. I ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. I work along with other employees and set pace performing non-supervisory work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led.

I assure that there is enough work to keep everyone in work crews busy. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines, and urges or advises other employees to follow supervisor's instructions and to meet deadlines. Answers workers questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees).

I assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g., assures that machine capacities are not exceeded and that tools are properly used).

I perform necessary travel (CONUS and/or OCONUS) independently as a team member to designated activities in the performance of on-site rebuild/repair work as described in above duties. Participates a and contributes in the development, decision, and evaluation of Depot Maintenance Work Requests (DMWR) for Major Subordinate Commands(MSC's) and /or Program Managers. Tour of duty may be irregular and extended work hours to include weekends and/or holidays.

I use extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operating and working relationship of a variety of heavy combat (or heavy mobile) types of vehicles. (Bradley, MLRS, 5 Ton trucks, HEMMT, HMMWV, ASV, SEE, FMTV, and MKI and MKII boats)

I perform troubleshooting analysis of all vehicle systems, assemblies, and parts such as diesel engines, adjustment of transmissions, hydraulic systems, etc.

I use technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, DMWRs, Work Orders and other applicable technical instructions and guidance.

I am relied upon to independently accomplish work for which responsible. Plans total work sequence including selecting tools, equipment and parts, referring only the most difficult and unusual problems to the supervisor. Duties: I serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over a maintenance production organizational unit comprised of leaders and workers involved in the 5 ton assembly, road test, and shipping branch section. While working in this position my duties encompass scheduling work, managing a subordinate group of 35 employee, and 2 leaders. I also have the ability to supervise through subordinate supervisors. I have the ability to schedule work, perform cost analysis, work in process improvements, production methods, and safety and environmental practices. I have the ability to meet deadline dates under pressure. i have ingenuity ability to suggest and apply new methods. Ensuring that all program schedules are met or exceeded, and overseeing the day to day operation of a wide variety of task. While doing so I coordinate, direct, and plan a large scale of mechanic, and road test procedures related to the 5 ton truck assembly. I also am responsible to direct the way work is performed in order of importance and plan work according to a variety of program schedules. I also have the skills and the ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment. I have the ability to read, understand and apply instruction and other materials related to the job of mechanical, and assembly, and road test of the 5 ton truck. I perform adjusting plans, assign, and use proper methods as necessary procedures to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible. While serving as supervisor I counsel employees on problems, and adjust informal complaints through discussions with employees and union representatives. I also determine how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, and number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available and required to complete the mission. I have the ability to assign employees day to day task to be performed each day ensuring that work performed meets several quality and production schedule standards for each program schedule. Duties: Duties: I work under a supervisor as the leader over the Power Train section. In regards to employees, I recommend promotion for those doing work above and beyond their normal scope of duties and panel and select employees off a referral register based on needs of the organizations and experience. In addition to this I evaluate job-performance appraisals on a quarterly basis, and determined the amount of training need for each individual employee. When employees were performing on a sub-standard level I counsel employees or recommend disciplinary action to CPAC (Civilian Personnel Advisory Center) in order to get employees to come back in line with their requirements of the organization. In worst case scenarios, I propose the elimination or redeployment of positions and personnel to reduce man-hours and cost associated with overstaffing due to an unforeseen schedule change. All my duties, whether at the section or branch level I use several different computer programs that helped with the tasks listed above. Duties: As a heavy mobile equipment diesel mechanic I performed disassembly, of the 903hp Cummins diesel engine, the 855 cubic inch N14 select Cummins diesel engine, the 60 series Detroit diesel engine, the 3176 Caterpillar diesel engine, and the 8v 92 series diesel engines. I also performed the rebuild of all the diesel engines for heavy mobile military equipment. I am able to use all toque wrenches, blue prints, and technical manuals as need to perform each task. I followed all safety guide lines, such as wearing the proper safety shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses as required by safety. I also rebuild turbo’s as need for each engine, and followed all specs by using feller gauges, and dial indicators if such was nesaceary. If there was a major parts issue I would notify my supervisor of the problem, and then proceed to the trouble shooting manuals for each problem. I would also use a micrometer to check the camshaft, and crankshaft for wear or to see if it was still serviceable before installing the bearing.

Diesel Technician

Duties: As an entry level diesel mechanic my duties were to install transmission on the Mack truck as needed. I also installed new brakes and S-cams as needed on the Mack truck and trailer. I was relied upon to change oil filter and fuel filters when doing the Preventive maintained on a truck of bull dozer. I job was to change out kingpins, and tie rod ends if the truck needed new front end parts. I perfumed several in frame and out of frame rebuilds on the Mack engine, and on the bulldozers, and the Bob cats, and the Case front end loader. I had to work on the Power take off unit when it was leaking, such as replace seals or rebuild the (PTO). As an entry level mechanic I worked on many John Deer tractors, timing the injection pumps, and replacing injectors in side of the engine if one was clogged or had a bad o-ring inside of it.
