Dear Sir or Madam:

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Professional Engineering license in New York State, and 8 years of experience in lighting, electronics, quality control, and compliance. I am also interested in moving to a career in embedded systems.

The following is a summary of my skills and experience that may be of interest to you.

The products that I specialize in are mainly electrical power supplies and light sources. My core competency is in quality assurance. My past work has required me to write technical specifications for electronic products, test such products, develop test procedures, and conduct failure analysis on defective units. To aid myself, I would consult standards from UL, ANSI, and NEC.

One of my job duties was building electronic test fixtures. One test fixture I built, an ACTV tester, consisted of a number of relays and an oven where test lamps would be situated. A Microchip PIC microprocessor, which I have custom programmed, controlled the relays so

that the lamps would be turned on and off and subjected to high temperatures at periodic intervals.

I also have a solid academic background in low-level software and firmware development. In college, I worked with several camera and LED display applications where I would have to write low-level routines that would send and receive data via parallel port communication. After leaving college, I have kept my skills up to par by working on several computer applications in my spare time.

Please see my attached resume for more details on my qualifications.

I can bring a compelling set of skills, learn quickly, consistently produce high quality work and outperform my peers. I would really enjoy interviewing with you to introduce myself and learn more about you. You can contact me via e-mail at ***********@*****.*** or by cell phone at 201-***-****. Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Eugene So
