PROJECTS:
Project #1
Title : Cockpit installation for Prototype Vehicle
-LCA Fighter & Trainer A/C.
Environment : CATIA V5 R20, ENOVIA VPM.1.6
Description:
Involved in the Design of LH, RH &
Centre Console, Main Instrument Panel, LH & RH Quarter Panel, Coaming &
Glare shield, Helmet Mounting Display Systems will be installed in the
Cockpit based on D.E.P and N.S.R.P as per MIL-STD and with the help of
Pilot. All Controlling systems come in Consoles and all Display systems in
Main Instrument Panel (MIP). All LRU's like HUD, MFD's, SSDU, FSP, CWP, TQA
and Switches will be installed in Cockpit after the Pilot's approval. So
Design of Top Panels, Support Brackets, Side Cover, Tube assembly & Angles
for installation of LRU's and instruments in Cockpit for Fighter and
Trainer variants.
Roles and Responsibilities
< Checking against D.E.P & N.S.R.P.
< Clash analysis of the installation w.r.t other group.
< Drafting of Parts, Assemblies, Installation and
generation of Material
schedule for the Assemblies & Installation.
Project#2
Title : Installation of Avionics Systems
LRU's. - LCA Fighter & Trainer A/C.
Environment : CATIA V5, ENOVIA VPM.
Description:
In this project we deal with
installation of the Electrical & Avionics equipments, Antenna like RAM
Antenna, & TACAN Antenna and LRU's like SSCDR, AMU JUNCTION BOX, APSU,
RADIO ALTIMETER, TRU, TERMINAL BLOCK & VARISTOR etc. Here main Design
constraint is accessibility of the units and unit should not foul with
other routings like Hydraulics and Environmental control system.
Roles and Responsibilities
< Position of the LRU & Antenna as per inboard drawings.
< Involved in modeling of LRU & its mountings. Design of
Support Brackets
For fixing LRU to the Structure.
< Coordination with Structure and Aerodynamics Group for
clearance.
NATURE OF WORK IN CESSNA
. Working in Engineering Change Request (ECR), Quality Notification (QN)
and Drawing Change Notice (DCN) for supporting Sustaining Activities.
. Creating, modifying 3D Models & drawings in CATIA V5 and 3D COM based
on the input.
. Generating Bill of Materials and Release Sheets.
. Providing Technical Support on CATIA V5, 3D COM & Cessna Standards for
team members.
. Provide leadership support to the team to meet execution metrics and
quality standards on complex / critical projects.
. Coordinating with other groups like Stress, Fatigue and Material for
the approval of design changes.
PROJECTS:
. Re-Design of Wing- Spar Assembly for Cessna Mustang Citation Jet:
It is a Cost out Project, so Fwd, Main & Rear Spar, Rib Caps, Rib
Web, Flap Interconnect brackets, Wheel well structure, Speed Brake
assy, Upper and lower skin are re-designed in such a way that to
reduce the machining cost of the parts.
. Sealant Improvement for Cessna Mustang Citation Jet: It is like to
reduce cure time instead of applying the sealant, worked on Cabin
Window, Baggage Door, Radome and Nose Cone Structural Assy, so as to
change the application of the sealant and Discussed with Material and
processing Group for approval.
. Cable Guard Pin Improvement: It is also a Cost out Project,
Current cable guard pin material is too costly and so we decided to
go with different material, so as to reduce cost of the pin. For
this we coordinated with Material and processing Group for
approval.
. Mustang Cable Guard Change: Due to tension applied in yoke, cable is
rubbing in lightening Hole location, so designed a Bracket and Cable
Guard to prevent rubbing condition.
. Blower Clamp Change: To avoid hand forming of clamp in assembly line.
Provided thickened rubber between Blower and clamp so as to reduce man
hour.
. Fastener Substitutions: Due to inaccessibility of some mechanical
fasteners and Rivets in various areas of the aircraft, provided
alternate fasteners/solutions.
. New Avionics Equipment: For GARMIN support, installing DATA COMM and
IRIDIUM
Equipment behind the Aft Baggage compartment. So designed frames and C-
Channel to install the equipments and discussing with Stress and
Fatigue for approval.
. Hydraulic Tubing Corrosion Improvements (510): Cause corrosion issue
due to dissimilar material contact in hydraulic tubing's, areas like
nose, MLG, NLG, wing and cabin fairings etc.
TRAINING UNDERGONE:
. Completed 3D COM & Enovia VPM 1.6 training in Cessna Aircraft Company,
Kansas, US.,
. Completed CATIA V5 Aerospace Sheet Metal training in Cessna Aircraft
Company, KS, US.,
. Completed CATIA V5 Generative Sheet Metal training in Cessna Aircraft
Company, KS, US.,
. Attended Metallic Materials and Finish class, Metal Bond class &
overview in Cessna.
