Profile and Objectives
I have worked for around 10 years as a computer and communications systems engineer (not
software) for one of the largest defense companies in South Korea. Based on my skills and experience,
I am currently looking for international jobs as an engineer in Canada. My dream is to be an
international engineer and I have the energy, a real competitive attitude, and enthusiasm in my field.
* I have got final permission for Permanent Residence in Canada in 2012(PR card) and going
there for my new life shortly.

High speed and large amount logic design capability in FPGA
Implementing ability of complex communications system and strong concept for timing
constraints in FPGA
Variety of experiences in communications system, such as hardware & software tests,
system tests in satellite & wireless communications.

Xilinx FPGA logic design and implementation with ISE, Synplify Pro and Modelsim.

FPGA design engineer in high speed wireless modem for data link (274Mbps-DAC 2.5GHz, ADC
1.6GHz) and operating test engineer for JTDLS modem.
. RTL-designed and implemented in FPGA for wireless modem’s main blocks involving
transmitter and receiver (Virtex6 LX240)
. Simulated modem algorithm for analyzing the performance and hardware resource analysis.
. Co-operated with a prominent professor who has designed this modem algorithm
. Performed JTDLS-satellite modem operation tests around Korean peninsula
LIG Nex1 Corp. (Seoul, Korea) Sep 2009 – Dec 2011
FPGA design & System engineer for K-JTDLS satellite modem in Korea Satellite communication
system and MUAVs.
. RTL-designed and implemented transmitter blocks, receiver blocks and designed PLL,
memory interface, CPU interface, and variety of counters and dividers in FPGA(Virtex5 LX220).
. Tested IF/ L-band signal characteristics by using spectrum analyzer, function generator and
noise generator etc.
. Supported the MUAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)team for designing modem and baseband
interface using Ethernet and E1 interface
LIG nex1 corp. (Seoul, Korea) Jan 2008 – Oct 2009
FPGA design Engineer for Next generation satellite prototype TDMA modem development based
on DVB-RCS system.
. Implemented and tested several blocks of modem algorithm in FPGA, for example: TDM
multiplexer, TDMA timing network synchronization, compressor, de-compressor and user
interface etc. (Virtex4 SX55)

Baseband hardware & FPGA design Engineer for Korea satellite communication system.
. Developed a variety of baseband user interface cards (E1,T1, DSU, V.35, Eurocom-D1,
RS-422, PSTN network, 2/4E&M and etc) and multiplexer/de-multiplexer involving
implementation in FPGA (Xilinx’ Spartan and Altera’ cyclone)
