WORK EXPERIENCE

Customer – Lufthansa Passenger Reservation System (Sep’07-Nov’10) in Hexaware Technology

Project Description: Lufthansa Systems (LSY) has hosted many airlines in their Multi Host System running on Unisys2200 / 400 mainframes (in USAS) providing Passenger Services (Real time online Reservations). The work involves handling of Enhancement requests, Bug fixes and Maintenance. Main focus areas are PNR and PNL, ASR (Advanced Seat Reservation), Codeshare and Schedule Change.

Project Role: Developer and Software Configuration Management Co-ordinator.

This includes production support in the areas of PNR, PNL and ASR/SSR for all hosted airlines.

1. RES-GDS (SITA/Amadeus) and Inter-host Maintenance

2. PNR Integrity Checks

Responsibilities

• Handling of the request for services like RFC (Request for Change / Enhancement request), Trouble Tickets and Incidents / Technical Query related to the international airlines.

• Involved in Analysis, Design, Preparation of Unit Test Plan, Coding, Unit Testing, Peer Review and Peer Testing.

• Providing production support (Maintenance).

• Solving production aborts (ONLINE).

Customer - SITA (Dec’10-Present) in NIIT Technology

Project Description: The project involves maintenance of 3 major applications namely E-ticketing, passenger reservation and check-in solution for SITA. SITA providing a multi host environment where nearly 110 airlines are hosted and some more airlines are hosted as sub hosts on major carriers. All the three applications (TKT, RES and CKI) functioned in non linked environment and communicated with each other by internal message passing. Nature of work involved three major things. Monitoring various NFM and data extraction jobs which were very critical for functioning of SITA, bug fixing (solving trillium tickets), performing root cause analysis and minor enhancements to suite the business needs of the customer.

Project Role: Bug Fixing, Production Support, Nightly File Maintenance

Modules: Passenger reservation systems.

• Production Problem Support:

o Resolving issues and problem tickets raised by the users and functional groups of various airlines hosted on SITA.

o Root cause analysis on most of the issues and handling them at code level.

o Working towards reducing the number of aborts happening in the system.

• Nightly File Maintenance:

o Worked on fixing NFM related issues in passenger reservation systems. This included providing solutions to on call problems reported by SSOC (by data patch most of the times and through code change on a few occasions). There were around 25 NFM jobs and each of them had to be monitored across 6 systems (3 production systems and 3 QA systems).

o Monitoring OAG (Other airline group) load. OAG load was done twice a week in all the 6 systems.

o Worked as daily activities coordinator. The daily activities included:

1. Fixing the PX-PN discrepancies.

2. Monitoring NFMs.

3. Looking for time out and contingency aborts and fixing the cause.

4. Fixing IV related discrepancies and doing root cause analysis for the same.

5. Managing inventory reconciliation reports.

• Major Code Changes:

1. Fixed issues related to strategy file processing.

2. Fixed ASR key corruption in inventory record.

3. Fixed bugs related to married segment processing. Introduced several dynamic parameters so that the functionality could be controlled as per each customer’s needs.

4. Upon cancellation of MH PNRs the outgoing message to GDS or any other booking source was not in proper format. Made code changes to support this.

5. Fixed few minor bugs related to secure flight processing.

6. Addressed various issues related to ticket time limit processing.
