Education:
Master of Science, Industrial Engineering, 2012
GPA- 3.2
The University of Texas at Arlington
Bachelor of Technology, Mechanical Engineering, 2010
GPA- 3.5
SASTRA University, India
Work experience:
Assistant Systems Engineer- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
December 2010- May 2011
. Comprehensive training in Informatica, SQL and other Data warehousing
tools.
. Responsible for organizing and managing business data and improving
business models by simulating business logic using data mining and
data warehousing concepts for the CITI Financial Group.
. Responsible for data mining, data extraction operations as well as
projects dealing with the development of process planning for the
clients based on their business data.
Project Engineer - NTTF Industries Ltd
June 2010- November 2010
. Analyzed shop floor data and implemented improvements thereby reducing
non value added manufacturing operations.
. Was involved in introducing improvements to maximize profits in
manufacturing operations.
. Responsible for designing equipment layout, workflow, continuous
improvement.
. Developed processes, procedures and mechanisms for entity management
systems and capacity systems.
. Increase of OEE of shop floor operations to 71% from an earlier 63%
with the help of TQM concepts.
Research Intern- Engine Factory Avadi, Ministry of Defence, India (An ISO
9001:2000 establishment).
December 2009-May 2010
. Was assigned to Flexible Manufacturing Systems section as well as the
assembly and testing line.
. Was involved in the process of the manufacturing and testing of MBT
(Main Battle Tank) engines on the developmental level.
. Conducted time studies to understand the impact that the losses had on
the cycle time.
. Found various technical factors that were contributing to production
downtime and manufacturing losses (mudas) and proposed corresponding
kaizens after thorough simulation and dry testing.
. Assisted in controlling heating inside the DNC machines by modifying
the coolant regulation mechanism, changing it from a worker machine
setup to a fully automatic one using pneumatic systems activated by a
PLC program and also assisted in the planning process leading up to
the installation of the equipment. These improvements helped the OEE
of the FMS setup increase to 73.20 % from an earlier 65%.
Miscellaneous Projects:
. Improvement of Overall Equipment Effectiveness by Minimization of
Manufacturing Losses using TPM.
. Study and analysis of efficiency of Light Rail transportation systems
and networks in the DFW area.
. Study and analysis of Cross Docking warehousing strategy with respect
to Wal-Mart and 3PL firms.
. Forecast model based on the modified rolling Grey's Forecast Model for
predicting the energy consumption based on the GDP of a country.
. Mathematical Regression model to study the relation between number of
customers, number of open counters and checkout times in Wal-Mart using
SAS. Simulated the data using Monte-Carlo simulation methods to develop
queuing models for service counters.
. Amphibious robot with AI making use of IC engines to power the robot
with the use of 8051 microprocessor chip to handle navigation and
obstacle recognition.
