[Commercial Van] Assembly). Responsible for implementing Process Control
systems for a $500M+/year automotive stamping (world's largest under one
roof) and assembly facility. Included: Implementing in-process measurement
systems from Surface Quality (Visual) Inspection/tracking/reporting to
automated data collection (DataMyte, Perceptron). Trained Inspection
personnel (transitioning toward "Process Auditors") in basic Statistical
Process Control (SPC) techniques (including floor implementation, Surface
Inspection by "Hi-Light" and Weld Inspection (destructive). Supervised (25)
UAW Inspectors/Clerks, NS & AB assembly areas (6/95 to 4/96) - dimensional,

(6) hourly UAW Inspectors. Products - stainless steel commercial steam
cooking and skillet equipment. Processes - QC of metal fabrication,
certified ASME Boiler Code welding, polishing, assembly & testing and
working to National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) requirements. Through team
effort, Quality Engineering helped drive monthly warranty cost down by 50%
(from ~$200-300K to ~$100-150K) including training of new Assembly
employees.
