Led a team of 20 safety technicians under contract of the (USACE) disaster recovery initiatives in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Coordinated activities with the mayor and city manager. Collaborated with National Response Team and FEMA to maintain compliance with OSHA safety guidelines and enforce EPA and state regulations. Conducted accident/injury investigations and illnesses exposures. Established and monitored investigations in near-miss situations. Inspected all vehicles to ensure they met department of transportation guidelines. Inspected periodically all equipment and fire extinguishers. Safety Technician
Worked in the maintenance department handling welding projects at the Beaumont Marine Terminal and was promoted to safety technician for a cut-out project from Houston, TX to Albany, NY. Also oversaw a repair project at a Texas marine facility
on twelve 50,000 barrel tanks and two 300,000 barrel tanks as a assistant safety manager.
After completion of this project oversaw two contractors in the building of two more
50,000 barrel and one 300,000 barrel tanks. As a welder for over fifteen years working
for local Texas contractor in building tanks and as a pipeline welder these projects were
awarded to me for the knowledge and Safety it takes to complete without any incidents.
* Oversaw Safety and Environmental compliances of tank building project with zero
injuries.
* Oversaw Safety of cut-out and replacement contractors; completed two year project with zero injuries.
