Experience

October 2006 – Present CrossRidge Precision Inc. Oak Ridge, TN

Lead Programmer

I was charged with the task of reducing setup and production time for over 30 aerospace parts.

1. First I consolidated many years’ worth of programs and setup instructions into a centralized

“Production Drive” that allows for greater document retrieval and control efficiencies. I also

wrote many standard operating procedures to insure efficient setup and production times.

2. W e discovered new ways of designing fixtures and locating jigs and grouped like parts

together, in machining “cells”. These cells are now operated by a single, skilled, machinist

who is capable of running multiple CNC machines. One cell in particular consisted of a

horizontal mill with a 5 axis, a dual spindle lathe and an OD grinder.

3. I also learned how to utilize machine tool probes. I wrote programs that will:

Machine, Inspect, and (if necessary) Re-machine part dimensions without any input from

the operator. Thus insuring good parts are produced the first time, without error.

4. Setup times were reduced from 20+ hours to less than 2 hours. Parts, that in the past

would have taken weeks to produce, could now be completed in a couple days.

I lead a team of 3 programmers who were responsible for all new parts and procedures.

Responsibilities included:

1. Solid modeling of the part.

2. Fixture design and fabrication.

3. First piece inspection reports and In-process inspection reports

4. CNC programs and setup instructions.

5. Setup and trouble-shoot dimensional discrepancies

6. Finalize programs and release for production

Programmer/ Operator

I was responsible for all CNC and wire EDM programming.

th

1. I wrote programs for 3 Charmilles Robofil wire EDM’s and a Haas VF2 with a 4 axis.

2. Setup and operate the wire EDM’s and the Haas.

3. Learned conversational programming on a Vertical Tree mill.

I also did some m anual machining of extrusion die components and die sets, us ing Bridgeport

mills, lathes and surface grinders.

June 2005 - February 2006 Keisler Engineering Inc. Knoxville, TN
