Objective: To obtain a full time position as an electrical engineer.

2011-2013 Michigan Technological University: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering .

Education:

(Expected year of graduation: May 2013)

Cumulative GPA: 3.51 /4. Enrolled in the fourth (and the last) semester.

2006 – 2010 AISSMS College of engineering, University of Pune, India

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with First class with distinction. Class rank (6/65)

Work Experience: Summer internship at Uni-Tech Automation Private Limited, Pune, India from March 2011 – June

2011. Worked in testing and Quality control department and developed testing skills for generator set

control panels using testing jigs and high voltage equipments. Worked in production department and

gained experience in wire harness and control panel assembly.

Projects: ‘Design and fabrication of Remote Controlled Miniaturized Linear Induction Motor’

• Designed and fabricated a three phase, 415 V, 80 W start connected single sided LIM

• Features include compact size, high efficiency, reduced cost and motor operation with remote control.

• Applications include CNC machine and various machine tool drives.

‘Simulation of Power System Stability using MATLAB/Simulink’

• Simulations of steady state and transient state stability by using numerical methods including Runge-

Kutta, Point by point and modified Euler’s method

• Study and simulation of multi-machine stability.

‘Modeling and simulation of a PV array and maximum power point tracking for a PV system

using MATLAB/Simulink’

• Several solar cells were connected in series as well as in parallel and its P-V and V-I characteristics

were simulated and studied.

• We proposed a method to locate the position of the sun by using maximum power point tracking

method. Several IEEE papers were referred.

‘Design and modeling of multistage impulse generator or Marx generator by using ATP simulation

package’

• Single and multistage impulse voltage generators were simulated in ATP.

• Designed front and tail resistances to give standard lighting impulse of 1.2/50 μsec. Also simulated a

standard switching surge of 100/1000 μsec.

• It is used in high voltage laboratories for insulation testing purposes.

‘Electrical Reliability Analysis of Offshore Wind Parks’

• This project is all about the calculations of expected annual ENS (Energy not supplied) using analytical method and

probabilistic approach.

• Initially basic systems have been analyzed and then they are modified by introducing redundancies.

• Small, medium and large wind farms have been analyzed.

• Finally, evaluation of additional income against additional investment has been performed.

‘Profit Based Unit Commitment (PBUC)’

• This project considers a new approach for unit commitment in deregulated environment.

• A unit commitment problem for two systems namely three generating & six generating units has been solved

analytically and by using MATLAB programming tool by proposed approach when forecasted demand and price are

known.

• The proposed approach in the project provides maximum profit to the GENCOs when compared to the existing and

traditional methods.

rk: Advanced methods in power systems, distribution engineering, electric machines, control systems and dynamics,

renewable energy sources, wind energy, power system operations and control, switchgear and protection, energy

management, transients in power systems, Optimization, Power system protection, relay engineering lab.

Presented a paper at a national level symposium organized by Zeal Education Society and AISSMS College of

Engineering, Pune, India.

• Paper presents a need of renewable energy sources and a solution to energy crisis

• Explains about what is Liquid Electricity, its various properties, compelling reasons behind using it, its

production, advantages and disadvantages with world wide applications.

Extracurricular Activities:

• Worked as a leader of paper presentation committee in an ‘engineering today’, a technical event

organized by AISSMS COE, Pune, India.

• Involved in technical symposium organized by AISSMS COE on ‘Sustainable Power Development’.

• Various company visits viz. Minisha Transformers and RCF power house, India for lean

manufacturing processes.

• Attended a seminar on ‘Energy Audit’ organized by The Institute of Engineers, Pune, India.

Software skills: Conversant with MATLAB/Simulink, ATP, C, GAMS, Windows, MS Office and Mathematica.

Hobbies: Photography, travelling, playing Soccer and Cricket, cooking, watching movies.
