EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION
M.S.
08/2008 - 05/2011
Electrical & Computer Engineering Illinois Institute of
Technology, Chicago, IL
B.S.
09/2002 - 07/2006
Electrical Engineering Hebei University of Science
and Technology, China
Cisco Certificated Network Associate (CCNA) Certification
professional Experience
Network Analyst (American Super Travel Group INC) 02/2012-
present
. System maintenance including account and access control, package
management, SSH configuration, disk partition, LV management, and
printer configuration
. Setup and configure virtual guest and establish virtual network.
. Network troubleshooting with TCPDUMP
. DNS resolver and BIND 9 nameserver configuration in Linux environment
. Maintain DNS nameserver including configuration, update zone datafile
and setup forward zone and stub zone.
. Troubleshooting BIND with dig and nslookup
Applied Bioinformatics Laboratory (University of Kansas)
05/2011- 01/2012
. Designed and implemented a complete website including database (MySQL)
for Protein Production Group of University of Kansas with HTML and
JavaScript. The website is used for providing biology technical
service. (http://www.abl.ku.edu:8080/ppg/index.html)
. Test and debug HTML and Java
. Maintained the web server.
TCP/IP Protocols Simulation and Analysis (Illinois Institute of Technology)
02/2010-05/2010
. Implemented TCL (Tools Command Language) scripts for NS2 (Network
Simulator 2) simulation in Linux environment. TCL scripts functions
included built up the network topology, set up FTP/UDP and various
flavors of TCP (Reno, Tahoe) connections, configured the parameters of
the nodes and links and generated trace files and NAM graphs for
analyzing use.
. Observed the behaviors of TCP changes according to the background
traffic, created PERL scripts to compute parameters like throughput,
end to end delay and the Estimated RTT (Round-Trip Time) from the
trace files. Plotted the results parameters with X-graph and compared
the parameters of diffident flavors of TCP.
Network Design and Configuration (Illinois Institute of Technology)
08/2009-12/2009
* Set up a Single-segment network including 4 workstations in Linux
environment. Configured cabling and IP addressing, verified the IP/MAC
address of all workstations and the troubleshooting connections
between the hosts, used TCPDUMP to capture the traffics in the network
and analyzed the output.
* Designed a mediums size network which can support both wired and
wireless devices, configured the Cisco routers in the network, managed
the Cisco IOS, set up dynamic routing protocols on routers and add
security methods (ACL) to satisfy the requirements of the network,
built up VLANs on Cisco switches. The network can support 40
customers; each customer can use a desktop, a wireless laptop and a
phone.
