Last 10 year work history
The last contract/direct scenario was through FMC Technologies and included Heavy product feeders, screw
conveyors, and roller/belt conveying. Sept. 2006 - August 2010. (Reduction of work force due to economic
variables). Work entailed drafting and design of heavy products magnetic and mechanical feeders per customer
request/modification to Autocad. Screw conveyors were also drawn and modified per customer request. This
included drive and bearing selection per FMC standard criteria. Drafting and detailing duties were also required to
roller conveying (minor).
Cummins Recon, Memphis Tn. Responsibilities of this contract December 2002 to July 2006 included approx
1500 drawings to Autocad. Design of mechanical and quality fixtures. CMM operations and programming using
Pcdimis. Quality lab manager. Gage calibrations and record keeping per ansi 17025. Calibrations were not only
performed on-site but were coordinated with 3 outside vendors. Gage selection, repairing, monitoring, ordering,
receiving, numbering, scheduling, testing (Gage R & R) and utilization. Training included MQV, 5S lean
manufacturing, ASQ methodology and diversity. Gage traceability to NIST standards. Millipore tank design,
drawings, supply ordering, processing, component testing and utilization per part specification. Surface testing
fixture design, set-up, component repair, ordering, and utilization, (included as example - Taylor & Hobson, Federal
pocket surf, Mitutoyo SV-600 with surf-pac software-used also for chamfer qualification and profile requirements).
Technical Associates (Memphis TN.) - for special packaging equipment design November 1999 to May 2001.
Responsibilities included work on a special design conveyor system that had variable speed capabilities, an
encoder was used to maintain pick and place conveying and to provide reliable directional information. The
conveyor was developed through internet interaction with vendor's. Structural design, drafting, and fab shop details
followed. Another vendor’s equipment was also required to bolt up and to work in unison with the system. This also
included meetings and “net” activities. Vacuum to plastic film capabilities were also realized and were tested by the
vacuum manufacturer for incorporation to the system. Layout and drafting duties also included hydraulics (bom,
flow diagrams, console modifications per engineering request), and pneumatic assemblies. Machine shop
interaction included communication, shop visits, and assembly as required. Minor field supervision / work was
required at an initial set-up site.
