EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
December 6, 2012 -present Doctors Express Urgent Care: Function as a Nurse Practitioner in a very busy
urgent care facility seeing approx. 25 -45 patients in a 12 hour period. Work solely
as the only provider in the center on most occasions, under the supervision of a
preceptor assessable by fax, Email, or other technology. Task delivered to patients
include, but not limited to: emergency care of various types, suturing, medication
management until individuals PCP available, prevention of infectious
disease,
and DOT, sports and school physical exams. Utilizes electronic medical records.
January 2012 - present Palm Beach Atlantic University College of Nursing. Serve as an Adjunct Faculty
in the 4-year, BSN nursing program. Accompany students to the hospital for their
psychiatric clinical experience. Assist students in learning to implement
communication skills and therapeutic approaches in caring for mentally ill
patients . Offer opportunities for student experience in drug and alcohol treatment
facility and brief time spent in psychiatric unit of county jail. Responsible for
grading paperwork and evaluation of the student associated with the clinical
experience.
January 2012 – present Behavioral Healthcare of the Palm Beaches, Family and Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner. Duties of both the medical practitioner and the psychiatric needs of
patients age 18 – 65 with diagnosis of various substance abuse problems. Most
commonly are the opiates and alcohol. This can be in the area of detox or
treatment. Perform history and physical exams, psychiatric evaluations, and day to
day problems that arise as the patients goes through the 30 – 90 day program.
Prescribe detox and routine medications and make clinical diagnosis as indicated.
Detailed electronic charting using Tier software is utilized.
March 2011 – June 2011 Community Home Care and Hospice, Family Nurse Practitioner. History and
physical exams on patients admitted to home and hospice care for the purpose of
re-certification for continued care. Home visits, family interaction and addressing
daily problems as they arise and are brought to attention on exam and through the
home health/hospice nurse. This is done one day/week while teaching nursing at
South University
August 2010 – February 2011 Colonial Family Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, primary and urgent care
in a large private practice. Performs acute and chronic care and follow up/
preventive care.
August 2009 – December 2011 South University, Associate Professor, Teaching in the BSN and graduate level
program of Nursing at a private on ground university in Northeast Columbia, SC.
Teaching Nursing Research, Advanced Pharmacology, and Psychiatric Mental
Health Nursing. Community service/involvement by working one day /weekly as
a nurse practitioner in a private family practice.
July, 2008 – July 2010 Comprehensive Family Care: Family Nurse Practitioner in large family
practice. Acts as provider for practice patients for routine and acute care.
June 2007 - June 2008 Doctor's Care: Cayce Office, Part-time while in graduate school. Changed to
full time nurse practitioner in multi-location urgent care and family practice
center.
